I did the same thing as you. Didn't go crazy, just bought enough to balance out what i was redeeming. I don't know whats going to happen but if you can't do both you would think their system would be set up for this. Either redeem or get points but won't let you do both. When i did a transaction yesterday i had an amazing cashier, She says "oh, you get 8000 pts for every 4 of these chocolate bars" me "i know it's awesome".Then when she was done putting everything through she says "oh you want to redeem, you have enough points?" of course i said yes. So i'm going to believe you can do both.

i risked it and didn't redeem the points that i earned. i'm hoping they let people keep their points because:
- sdm said on their fb that we can get bonus points when we redeem
- the promo never mentioned that it was one per transaction/card/customer
- reading other people's posts, it seems that many stores were actively telling customers to redeem for chocolate, so it's hardly fair to listen to staff and then be punished for it
- if people had bought lots of, say, gum or peanut butter, would sdm care as much because of their higher cost? probably not. so we shouldn't be punished for buying sale items!
fingers crossed and i shall be keeping an eye out on my account balance!

I think its kinda funny that people who participated in the whole chocolate bonus points deal are not worried because they then used the points they gained to even out and get another redemption of other stuff they can use. You realise that if they do decide to claw-back the points that they will still take the points back but from whatever is left on your card?
So for example if you had 38,000 to begin with and after doing the chocolate redemption and then using the chocolate points to do another regular redemption therefore not really using/osing any points you would still have those 38,000 on your card right? Well whats to stop them from taking that as a claw back? Nothing, its the same thing.Insert Clever Signature Here

I brought 24 bars to the till at one and they said there was a limit of 8 and acted as though it was a matter of course that there would be a limit. I pointed out that there wasn't a sign indicating any limit, nor a flyer fine print but to no avail. I didn't make a big deal of it because I was at another store and got over 50 bars, so I figured it was maybe a sign to not get greedy.

is this bonus points still going on? Do you need a coupon? Is there a link to the facebook post? I can't seem to find the details of where this originated and i feel i'm missing out

Thanks,
Andrew.

Thanks for the info - can you let me know what type of chocolate bars would qualify / the link to the source information?
Thanks so much.
Andrew.

There are several posts below yours that are discussing this. In short: The deal is still live but not as valuable as on the weekend.
Weekend deal with super redemption
Buy 112 Choc bars
Redeem 98,000 points
Pay about $30 in taX
Earn 242,000 points
Now the math is skewed so it would be
Buy 112 bars for 224.00 + 30 in taxes
Redeem 95,000 points 170.00
254.00 Total with tax
170.00 less redemption
$84.00 you pay that in cash
you should receive 224,000 points I'll leave the rest of the math/redemption ratios to thers
