Moral lacking so-called 'couponers'

Sooooo frustrated with these moral lacking so-called couponers that go into stores and open the products just to remove the coupons!!! Have you no shame at all?!?!? You're making the rest of us look horrible. I can't count the number of incidents of this I have seen in my local stores in the last month. Grow up, don't be so cheap and buy the damn product! The store, the manufacturer and in the end the consumer will pay for your ignorance. Ugh couponing can be such a gong show sometimes!

I see it all the time at Walmart and my local Loblaws. Boxes of tampons open or even cut the coupon out for the nestea and just on Friday at Walmart a worker was picking up lose tena pads. She was chatting with another co worker calling couponers names and why cashiers call on sick on certain days cause they don't want all that hassle.

It's really terrible some people just don't get coupons in products or coupons attached to products or part of the product packaging are for the customer paying for the product.Stores should put up signs like tampering with a product is a criminal offense just like some stores put up signs about prosecution for shoplifting.

A few weeks ago during the Nestea thing I saw one woman in handcuffs at Walmart near me and cops in the parking lot. Cashier said charged with theft for stealing the coupon off the boxes.

While I agree that taking coupons from IN products is very wrong, I personally do not have an issue with taking coupons that are on the outside of products (ie, peelies, hang tags, etc) so long as it does not damage or destroy the actual product or it's packaging. Some may not agree with me on this, but if it's for something that I genuinely WANT to try (and maybe it's just not within the budget on that particular day) then I see absolutely nothing wrong with taking a couple of them for future use. Is that not the point to companies putting out coupons? For the consumer to first try and then (hopefully) continue to buy their products?

First time yesterday I saw those Smuckers coupons at the store, super excited as there were lots there- and then I go up and take a look and sure enough someone's gone through every single one and ripped off the coupons and left the recipe section. These were set up in a few places in the store and every single one was ripped off. Ergh! Just take the whole thing so I don't get my hopes up!

peelies and hangtags are meant to either be used on the product their on, or for future purchase AS LONG AS YOUR PURCHASING the item its stuck on.
Openly admitting to taking coupons off products is the same as taking coupons out of the products boxes. IMHO.

I have seen this too and it really frustrates me! The worst case I saw was when they had coupons in the Ziploc boxes. We were really needing medium sized freezer bags and there wasn't one intact unopened box on the shelf at Walmart. A whole case of bags had been opened and the coupons were removed. Baggies were strung all over too, just shameful! When the prime portion chicken had high value coupons, a lot of the bags "just happened to" be ripped on the seam and the coupons were gone. Who wants to buy an unsealed bag of raw meat! I also see a lot of peelies being sold on eBay. It is not uncommon to see 20 or more Grillums peelies being sold for $8 in a lot and people pay for them. This type of behavior is theft, plain and simple. As if couponers didn't have a bad enough rep already

I can't imagine what goes through someone's mind when they decide that it's fair game to open a package they aren't purchasing to get the coupons inside. Unfortunately, those damaged packages can't be sold and are a loss for the store. This in turn drives up prices as they have to account for unsellable merchandise.

Also, the peelies that I have seen on packages usually say something like - "save $1 on the purchase of this item". To me, it seems pretty clear that the manufacturer intends the peelies to go to the person purchasing that actual physical item. Over the past couple of months I've seen packages of Babybels with these peelies (actually, an extra on the cardboard label), but unfortunately they've only been on the flavours I don't buy. My flavours have no peelies.

i know, and at places like nofrills and rcss i see peopple taking off pink stickers and placing them on a product that it doesn't belong on just so that they can get it for free.

THAT is absolute BS and I would immediately contact a store manager and point out the person who did it. I found a couple stickers still on the roll paper in the refrigerated section at RCSS, and you know what I did? I handed it over to the deli person, because apparently unlike other people, I'm a moral person.

That just makes my gut twist. That's so horrible.
