Bra Fitting

Has anyone gone and had a bra fitted / I know that I am not wearing the right size now and that I need an underwire and firm support .Is there anywhere in the Gta particularly Vaughn that is reputable and not overly expensive ?

I know that the Sears near where I live (in Ottawa) has a bra fitter come in a couple of times a week to help customers with fittings. You could give the one in your area a call and see if they provide that service.

Or, go to a reputable lingerie store to have a fitting (and buy the bra) and then wait until that brand comes on sale at the bigger department stores. Also, be specific on what you can afford. Those stores will always have their most expensive bras on display, while the budget stuff like Warners and Wonderbra are kept in closed drawers.

The deciding factor is the size of your bra. A friend was fitted and turns out to be a 34H! Her bras run $150+. You can't find those sizes in department stores, so sometimes you have to pay the $$$$

If you're handy with a sewing machine, get a fitting, bring the bra home and try your hand at sewing your own. I've never tried it, but appararently it's not as hard as we think it is.

I get a fitting every 6 months. It's so important for your health to wear a correctly fitting bra. I would recommend Aerie as being a good store for a fitting. The people are friendly and the bras aren't too expensive.

Most lingerie stores have free fittings, just go and ask!

If you're an awkward size (like myself...29E) you'll have to go to a specialty store, and yeah they're pretty expensive (about $100-$150 per bra), but they're amazing quality and will last you a long time. Plus they usually have good sales, you just gotta keep your eye out! I go to "Just For You" in Waterloo, very friendly and helpful staff, and they also have super cute (and supportive) bathing suits.

I think la senza does those for free. Although you may need to buy a bra not sure.... Also I am wondering what are the health effects of wearing a incorrect size? I know there are the back problems. But is there anything else? Ive never been fitted so am curious....

La Senza & Victoria Secret does it for free. I don't know if Le Vie En Rose does it for free too but i think they do.

are any of these department/mall stores actually have qualified "bra fitters"? or are they just kinda taking a tape measure and trying to fit you into a size?

La Senza told my friend she'd be find with a 38DD when she's a 34H. I don't trust them after that.

I wouldn't trust those mall retailers either. When they're teens or younger than you that are in sales, I don't think they are qualified bra fitters. No offence.
