Sure
This problem is not new to me, but now this is more important than before...
I have that problem with the freebies menue since long time (month I think)
Problem also with "quick links" menue (new since yesterday to me) now I can't used "subscription" to see the thread I have in subscription with that "quick link" (but yes I have other way to reach that page and see thread I'm subscribe):
And the most wonderfull is the "local" menue! This one go under so many other frame!:

Your password is working when you log back in Darth? I have received several messages that others are logged out and their passwords don't work

The upgrades have been going on since April not for a year or since the beginning of the year as you keep claiming. Strange no one else has the same issues as you but they are all SCs fault?
The connection timeout is unrelated to the upgrade (and happens to people when signed out too) and because someone keeps attacking the site, there is absolutely nothing that can be done about repeated attacks except to hope they get bored along with the measures already in place. Actually, if the upgrade didn't take place, the problem would be much worse.

Since this is happening in multiple browsers for you, and you are the only one (so far) that has posted about having this issue regularly, I have to wonder if it's a firewall issue (either hardware or software). This is not uncommon with a router firewall that is not properly configured, or when using a internet security software locally on your computer, or through your ISP (zone alarm or Norton for example). Also, it could be an IPv6 issue, or even a DNS Prefetch issue.
Actually, read through this article (I realize it's Mozilla based, but it has a lot of great info) and see if any of it helps you: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Error_loading_some_websites
