Buddy, do you like to bake? You betch ya!
If yes, what do you like to bake...
Cakes? Yes, and decorate too, although I'm very critical of my work, lol!
Cupcakes? Yes, I'm actually working on testing some different flavour combos..
Muffins? Yep, usually I try and do the "healthy" ones, since most of the other baking is pure sugar!
Pies? Yes, but not as often..
Cookies? Yes, but thinking on it now, mainly at Christmas... it's usually Oreo's and Peak Freans the rest of the year.
Anything else..? Tarts... I make a mean homemade butter tart, the kind that's all gooey when you bite into it. Also, traditional baked cheesecakes at holiday time. Cinnamon buns... nothing like having fresh baked on Christmas morning! I do breads too, but lately it's more focaccia, than regular loaves.
Wine? Red or white? What kind? Not a wine drinker, but use cheap Italian reds for cooking quite often.
My buddy is a baker but does she bake from scratch or from mixes? 99% of the time scratch... if it's needing cupcakes in a hurry for an event, the cake from a mix, but NEVER the icing, that is always homemade.
Favourite Christmas treat or food? It will sound weird, but stuffing! The smell, the taste, I could give up the rest of the meal in exchange for me not having to share the stuffing. Lol.

My hubby has an OBSESSION with garden gnomes, when he dies he wants to be cremated, then mixed with cement and made into a set of two garden gnomes - one for each daughter, who on receiving said gnome must sign an agreement PROMISING to take him in the house in the winter. He also thinks he should start a business offering this service to other people - is this our million $$$ idea???
I got him a t shirt a while ago with 4 gnomes on the front and it says 'Just chillin' with my Gnomies' hahahah. He wears it all the time.
Congrats to your son - what an accomplishment.
I LOVE to bake, finding time to bake is another thing. I also LOVE to eat baking so that could be a reason I don't bake a ton. Yesterday I made 'Apple Crisp Pizza' that I found on Pinterest - OMG.... so good. I just used a Pilsbury Pizza crust and went from there. So easy yet so impressive.
I accidentally shredded my card while mowing the lawn at the Girl Guide camp in the spring, I haven't replaced it yet and have been on a 'cash only diet' for a while now and like the results. I think I will keep it up and try to get thru Xmas this way. I can buy prepaid Visa's if I need too and I KNOW the activation fee will be alot less than the interest I would let acrue on a normal card.
My youngest has SPLAT red hair - you know, like a clown. I finally relented and let her bleach it out and then color it. Like some of ya's said, it's just hair and I remember wanting to do stuff like that at that age. My oldest wears a Sinatra type hat and rocks it. I love having 2 kids that are not afraid to stray from the norm and not care what others may say.
I love Whites, Two Oceans Sauvingnon Blanc, Any Pino Grigio, that reisling in the bottle that has a garden painted on it.
I like to bake from scratch but sometimes use mixes. Usually cake mixes, pizza dough mixes, cinnamon roll mixes.
Favortie Xmas treat? Nanaimo bars, sugar cookies, sausage rolls, friends and family.
You will have no problems in HRM, lots of stores, major shopping areas seem to be Bayers Lake and Dartmouth Crossing. I am 1.5 hours from HRM, but there are several SC"ers in that area - Erinsmom is in Dartmouth, CarmenMaria is down there too. Don't be afraid to give any of us a shout - we can help you get used to your new digs!

Baking - I bake usually from mixes but as I'm trying to go gluten/wheat free I've been doing it from scratch (when I have time and energy lol) I bake muffins, and the occasional cake or cupcakes, sometimes cookies.
I don't drink, wine or anything else lol.
Fav treat? nanaimo bars mmm or my mom's shortbread, or her wild rice casserole.

Wine? Red or white? What kind? Not a wine drinker but my family likes both red and white.
My buddy is a baker but does she bake from scratch or from mixes? Preferably from scratch, don't like most mixes.
Favourite Christmas treat or food? Purdy's white chocolate almond bark, oh!! actually, purdys sells this: http://blog.purdys.com/in-store-tast...u-eat-a-mayan/ and they are very delicious as a christmas treat....
Oh! I thought of another wish..I don't love that much chocolate even though I just mentioned two chocolate options, but I do love After Eight Sticks (not squares). so good with hot chocolate!

Wine? Red or white? What kind? I'm not much of a wine drinker, but if I had to choose I'd pick white.
My buddy is a baker but does she bake from scratch or from mixes? Usually from mixes. I'm super busy with an hour commute each way for work, and renovating my house at night and on the weekends. So if I bake, it's with mixes.
Favourite Christmas treat or food? I like egg nog, candy cane hershey kisses, and stuffing too.
I forgot to answer my own questions.

Mmmmm....almond bark. Love that stuff.
Meh on wine...severe allergies to mould keep me away from wine most of the time (although I do love a nice chianti or valpollecello)
Baking? Hahahahahaha...I wish I could do it from scratch. I can make banana bread (yummy) from scratch and usually try to do some holiday baking, but typically it's mixes the rest of the year. I do have a good recipe for soft gingersnaps Though. Super tasty and a fave of my DH's little brothers (19 yrs younger then him so theyre fun to bribe with cookies).

Can I tell you Bluzsuz that kinda made me tear up I have had kind of a bad week and I absolutely think your husband is the coolest person on earth right now what a beautiful awsome outlook on his passing. I also laughed very hard which is probably were the tears came in. Tell him I might sign up. The bonus is it would freak the crap out of my Kid, LOL even after I still wanna mess with him.Last edited by Armygirl76; Sun, Oct 14th, 2012 at 10:49 AM.

Favorite stockpile item : laundry deteregent, TP, Feminine products
stockpile item that we go through the fastest: Rice pasta, TP, Cat food and dog food
Kids not allowed to have : live critters..... they already have to many
My unicorn wish : I have been looking everywhere to find Green MOJO's
Do I like to bake: Yes and I prefer to bake from scratch unless I can find Gluten free mixes, I will bake everything but I really suck at making a pastry dough. My biggest problem is finding time to bake though.

wine? YES! I drink both red and white and in between. I don't drink super cheap wine though due to the higher amounts of sulphates which I react to.
I bake from scratch. Too much junk in the mixes. I'm big into real food.
Favourite Christmas treat or food? eggnog, chocolate, pumpkin pie, baked ham, mmmm I'm getting hungry
