If it wasn't for this thread and all of the song titles posted in the spring of 2011, my wife would still be driving a crappy 2002 Windstar. Not that anybody ever actually wins anything in any of those radio contests...

last month i called into news talk 1010 for the easy cash contest .
tried monday.....no luck
tried tuesday and i was caller #10, before i went on the air she asked me if i was familiar with the free answer of the day and i was honest and said no. she said it'll be the first question. i told her to be fair to ask me the question before i went on the air and if i got it wrong she could go onto the next caller. i got it wrong and they went on to the next caller.

tried again wednesday....no luck

tried again thursday and i was caller #10 again. yippeeeeee!!!!
this time i knew the free answer but as luck would have it they werent doing the free answer until question three.
so now i'm really nervous, not about being on the air but becasue that day they were doing a special promo where the jackpot was 10,000 instead of 1,000.

so first question comes and i get it right $1000 is mine if i want.
i'm asked if i want to try #2, but i chicken out because 1000 is better than nothing.
so i win $1000.
now to rub salt in the wound they ask me the question to see if i would get it right and as you would think i got it right, that question was worth $2000.
the third question was the free answer they put on their web site and it was worth $3000.
so if i didn't chicken out i would have $6000.

but i'm o.k. with it becasue the $1000 i won is paying for 1/2 our trip to Cuba next month.

unfortunately i dont get the cheque for a couple of months they tell me.


point of the story is it's possible to win you just have to keep trying.

in the past i've won about 4 different contests on q107 and a few on other stations.

so give it a shot.

Does anyone ever get a ringing and then an operator comes on and says due to technical difficulties we cannot route your call???? Is it because soooo many people are calling?
