I'm the same. I finally got a points card a year and a half ago and still don't really understand the whole thing. I guess I never got into it because of the amount you have to spend and if I don't really need something then am I really saving?

I buy milk and eggs there all the time as it's a better price, diapers/pull ups too, and stuff on sale, like the TP, papertowels, kleenex. Also get ice cream there on sale, and I've learned to get some good deals on the points events, and with the bonus points. They sell so much stuff, and are convenient for us, so it's pretty easy to shop there most of the time.

I'm not sure about SCOP, but I know their sale stuff often rings in at full price until the end of the transaction and then the discount comes off, so until they ask for the total you can't go by what it rang in at. It is annoying, but also can be a good deal lol, they had something on sale for $2.50, regular price was like $3.99 and I had a B1G1 so they gave me $3.99 off, then the discounts came off and voila, $1 for two items... All this to say, check your final receipt for the correct price.

im about 99.9% positive you have to have 50000 to do a redemption. i dont' think they are including any lower levels.

i just checked my points, i got 41,403

are there any good points to be gained? whats the TP one?

not sure about TP. but there will def. be a couple of ops between now and then to get more points. there is another 20x the weekend before redemption. we too buy our milk, kleenex, eggs, etc there too. it all adds up.

Right now the Royale TP is on sale for $4.99 (minus $1 coupon of course) and buy 3 get 2000 bonus points.
If you buy baby products make sure to use the bonus point VIB coupons (most can be found in the Shoppers part of this forum). There will likely be new bonus deals Thursday or Friday as most of them expire shortly with the end of the month.

does anyone know what kind of cake Buddy uses on Cake boss for his cakes.

for anything that needs carving, i think he, and most others, use sponge cake or something as equally dense. My guess is they dont' taste as good as the moister varieties....however they look pertty freaking amazing! haha

even if you buy products for someone who doesn't have a card. i bought my neighbor her dd's wipes. she doesn't have a card but was never so happy as when i bought her the wipes so cheap. she normally pays $8.50 a package. (not at SDM).

I was at SDM today getting a few things. Was buying 2 bags of cookies (not for me, I'm still being good about my diet!!), they rang in at $4 something and the end cap said $2.99. The person checked and I was right, asked her about SCOP and she said not on food? I haven't really kept up to date on SCOP with shoppers, is that right?

Just looked at both mine and hubbys accts and together we are short 40670 points for $250 redemption so it looks like Im only doing a $125 unless anyone has some points to spare??? LOL not alot of money to be doing extra shopping to make up that many points right now

Thanks. Yeah I thought so. When I mentioned it to the cashier she seemed to kind of ignore it and just make up an excuse so she wouldn't have to call the supervisor over. There were a few people in line so I didn't push it.

Ok, I am here to vent.... came home from Girl Guide training last night(no one was home), went into the kitchen and water is coming up through the floor. Apparently we have a water leak in the water line from the street to the house and now it is coming in the house. Trying to get hold of someone to come look but no one is home/available etc. PRAYING that this will be covered by insurance, if not we are up SH*( creek. And I have already been told the that the puppy will have to wait for now, there is no way we can afford it. I am so upset but I understand. Please say a few words for us.... Hubby gets himself so worked up and stressed out he is impossible to deal with and live with. And of course when I started crying about not getting the puppy, he was not impressed and freaked out at me and left the house. So I went to bed and cried... I am feeling a bit better this morning but hate feeling like this.

I know there are a lot worse things that can happen in a persons life and things can be replaced but I just needed to vent and get it out.

Spent the last hour repeatedly telling my husband that I CANNOT lift some of thiese items myself to get them up off the basement floor! No power will mean no subpump, and we are a family of 5 (6 really, but only 3 kids at home right now) living in a 3 bedroom home...EVERYTHING we don't use daily is in our basement! Trying to get everything organized so we can leave if we need to, all while trying to convince the kids that even if they do cancel hallowe'en, they can still dress up and have fun/candy wherever we are!
Was very excited to get more shopping done for my buddies this week

Just wanted to say that i'm thinking of you, i'm kinda in the same boat as you but i moved into the spare room a week ago and i know that things will look up for both of us, in the meantime, we have so many wonderful friends on SC that they always seem to make things better just by being there. Hope things are looking a little better for you today, and hugs.

Bear we all get cranky at them(the overgrown boys) DH and I always make up before bedtime though no matter how pissy I am! Ask Jezz I was so pissy at him the other day she was scared to call me back! LOL! We decided early on to never leave it over night..hope you work it out soon!!!

Baby making isn't always this chaotic, right? I'm back in the friggin' hospital b/c my cervix won't close (not sure why yet...waiting for the dr to go over my ultrasound results with me). This wk was already scheduled full of dr's appointments (mine I've had to cancel this morning and the receptionist is a raging *insert horrible adjective here*). Apparently leaving a msg saying "I'm back in the hospital b/c of excessive blah blah blah & my cervix won't close so I'll need to reschedule" causes her to get the prescription I was supposed to get called in today to NOT get called in - not even a wk's supply until I get another appointment. Note - I've been on this prescription for about 6 yrs & go in every 3 mos to do a 'check up' on it. There's never been a problem getting a few days worth called in to bridge me over. The request was faxed in thursday pending my appt this morning and they still hadn't approved a week's refill.

I guess this family practice/check up pulls rank over excessive bleeding & ER doctors holding me here til it's resolved. Sorry lady! I'm doing the best I can with prioritizing here! (Sorry, I love my dr, but I can't stand her receptionist b/c she is always so rude & acts like patients are inconveniencing her. So Don & I are switching over to a Family Practice at St Mike's (our specialists etc are all here). Alexa had her first appt this afternoon at 3 actually, but surprise! I have to call & reschedule that too! Booo!

Sorry, super frustrated & wanna knock someone's heads together. Not really, but I would love a punching bag and a soundproof room right now!

My husband. With the stencils you can tape on the pumpkins though!! I started to gut the pumpkins and carve mine but got frustrated quickly, so luckily for me, hubby was content doing all three! Whew...

This is my second year having an SDM Optimum points card. The first year, I think I started half way through and only had enough points to do a $50 redemption in December. This year, I'm only 21 000 points away from being able to do two $250 redemptions this December! I do live 30 minutes away from any SDM locations though, so I only shop there during 20x events or when the flyer has deals/promos that I can't pass up on! It helps for me that I have a baby, because I buy a bunch of baby supplies during those events plus I usually have the VIB bonus point coupons as well. Some of there prices can be ridiculous compared to Walmart, but sometimes there's some really good deals.

I do the same at SDM -I buy milk, bread, cheese etc there...also items we need that are on sale, and always try to hit 20X and stock up on milk etc for a couple weeks.

I then do mega redemption in Dec and stock up on items I never have coupons for (honey, peanut butter, cans of tuna etc), or items that seldom go on sale for a price I am willing to pay (razor blades).
