Great idea for a thread
there are many items that you can buy at the dollar store (ie toiletries like soap and shampoo) not that i would cuz let's be honest a dollar for a bar of soap seems like a lot
let's see, all prices are after coupons
*toiletries*
a bar of soap = less than $1/bar
bodywash = .99c or less
shampoo = $3 or less (ie. tresemme, garnier)
toothpaste = $1 or less
dishsoap = $1 or less
laundry soap = $3 a bottle (liquid), $8-$10 120 use box powder
toilet paper = 3.99 or less for 12 double rolls 2 ply
toothbrushes = $1.50 or less
razors = haven't bought one in years (samplesource/p&g sampler)
*staples*
rice = 4.99 or less for 8 Kg
soup = 50c a can or less
pasta = 50c-$1
pasta sauce = $1 or lessLast edited by Anna Michele; Sun, Nov 11th, 2012 at 06:57 PM.

For us stock up prices are:
4 pack peppers $1.77 per pack. We freeze them.
3 pack Romaine $1.50. Walmart does this a couple of times a year.
English cukes $0.69 each. Giant Tiger has this price a couple of times a year.
Bananas $0.39/lb. This happens at various stores a couple of times per year.
Wild blueberries $1.99 for 600 g, frozen. Europe's Best with coupon.
Eggs $1.49/dozen. Loblaws sale + Dairy Farmers coupon.

coupongirl, this is when keeping a price_book comes in handy because prices in your area may be different.
In my area, I consider toilet paper at 37 cents or less per double roll to be a good deal.

I like that idea and do have something similar to help me keep track of rock bottom prices.
Everyone's suggestions are great but I think you will need to do alot of your own research to find out what rock bottom prices are in your area. I live in a small town with only a Walmart, Sobeys, No Frills and Shoppers as an option for grocery shopping for rock bottom prices, alot of the other stores such as Freshco, Food Basics, and RCSS offer lower rock bottom prices than what I can access here in hickville...lol
Have fun and good luck! I was so excited to see how quickly my stock pile grew in such a short amount of time.

when things are a dollar especially good brands I tend to stock up .I stock up on kidney beans,chick peas and hot sauce/salad dressing but I watch the expiry dates.I got alot of aussie products when I had the coupons Im not buying much meat right now because Im unsure of it so Im putting the money into extra pasta and cerealsLooking for a french sea salt sale Baleine .The only brand I really like at the Dollar Store is Delon shampoos and cremes .Its odd but a Dollar Tree is going up right next to a Dollarama on Coxwell In Toronto .I heard they sold Breck but never found it
