Since about 5pm (it is now 1:10am), my cat has really not been himself! I don't know what to do at this point & I need any advice. (And yes, I do plan on calling the vet tomorrow.. just so I don't get the answer of GO TO THE VET!)

So my kitty has been very strange this evening. He is throwing up clear like liquid.. almost like clear water, but a little thicker. Also, I've noticed at times that he will be just kinda drooling almost the same kind of clear liquid. It's almost like a goo, but not as thick. He's usually crazy wild & tonight has been very calm. I'm very worried it something serious. I guess we all assume the worst. I'm wondering if it's possible that he has a hairball stuck in his system somewhere? He usually has 1-2 every week or two weeks, so that's nothing really new. He hasn't been eating as much as usual today, but he still has gotten something into him. He is drinking as much as usual.

Has anyone every had their cat act this way? If so, any advice as to what it may be?

    Worried fur baby mama here.

Usually my kitty did throw up clear liquid when she was trying to free a hairball. Sometimes, it would take her a few tries. If she's drinking normally, that's important and a great sign.

Is your cat a long haired cat? Does it typically chew on things? Drink cows milk? Has it been eating human food?

If it's a hairball, 100% pure white petrolatum or unsalted butter helps.
Just a bit, half a teaspoon. If you pat it on their mouth, they will lick it off.

I can't say enough about petroleum jelly!

$1600 vet bill with no result, and vaseline on my cat's paw fixed everything in mere hours.

Well kitty seems better today. Eating & drinking. Not so much lethargic today. No drooling or throwing up. Only downside, he's only peed once today, early this morning & no poop. So I dunno. I called the vet & she said he could have an upset belly or a hairball. Seeing as how he seems better today, I just called the vet to ask their advice. To just walk in with him for an appointment today it was gonna cost $150 + exam + blood work. This close to Christmas, I can't afford that. So I'm monitoring him. It's just using the bathroom like normal that worries me!

the fact that he's eating and drinking is very good. but definitely keep an eye on the litter.

thankfully it doesn't sound like what my cat had a few yrs ago... my cat was also vomitting clear liquid for a few days but NOT eating/drinking/going to the bathroom.. turned out the poor guy had crystals in his bladder and needed surgery.

If he's peeing less than normal, that could mean that he's getting a little bit dehydrated. This isn't uncommon, especially when cats have been vomiting. I would consider adding some extra water to his food (if he eats/likes wet food), or otherwise enticing him to get a few more liquids into his system. Dehydration can also lead to constipation, so the liquids are good for his bowels, too!

Kitty went to the vet today. It had been 2 days since & he was back to his normal self, but still took him to make sure he was alright because he still wasn't using the litter. Was nothing serious, got some special food to try him on for a while. Kitty finally went #2 tonight. So I am happy.
