Thread: Another cashier rant!

Hello Everyone,
I was doing my usual shopping last weekend (Yes i ventured out on the long weekend! CRAZY I know) and I was in line to have my items cashed out. As I was waiting in line the lady in front of me was complaining to the cashier about getting a refund on a product she bought. Now I am in no rush and didn't say one word to anyone (Actually It was some entertainment as I waited lol). The cashier I guess had enough of the lady and got her manager involved to fix the issue (Rolling her eyes, YA rolling her eyes).
After, the manager gave the lady her refund. The lady who gave the cashier a hard time (In my eyes she didn't, she was actually very nice) apologized to the cashier if she upset her in anyway and said she was just fustrated with the whole thing. Nice of the lady to actually apologize right? I thought so even though she should not have to. Anyways after the lady left, the cashier looks at another cashier and says right in front of me "OMFG, I am was going to lose it on that lady! GOD I just need to breathe, she was just so rude"
NOW yes, does the cashier have the right to express her feelings, of course, BUT the lady was not rude, did not swear at her, her tone was fine, all she did was ask to speak to a manager. Also, it is very unprofessional to speak about a customer in front of another customer.
I just ignore what she said and paid for my purchases and went on my way. BUT it bothered me???? This woman has a right to a refund and has the rigt to be treated with respect, because she was not being rude and was showing respect in the first place.
I just think what cashiers say about me when I leave a store? LOL
Thanks for letting me rant. This thread is currently associated with: GuessLast edited by saveadollardiva; Thu, Oct 11th, 2012 at 08:41 AM.

It was rude, but just let it be.
It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.

I have actually heard the cashier talk about me to another customer after she thought I had left. I done some couponing price matching that turned out to be a very long and tedious task for her. I spent the whole time with the women behind me huffing and puffing and rolling her eyes. As soon as they thought I was gone I heard her say. I don't get these people . If they want something why don't they just pay for it like everyone else. The cashier said I don't know what their problem is. This same cashier was asking the week before where I get the coupons from and I gave her some.
I walked back into their line of site and smile at her and said .Thanks smiled and left.
Lucky for me I'm blessed with a very influentual death stare. Every time I see her I let her know I know what she really is. Almighty CSM take that
Feel better thanks for the rant

It does seem unprofessional and rude. While we don't know what else happened in this transaction or what else is happening in the cashiers' life, but it would be more appropriate to have this type of discussion in the staffroom. Venting in the staffroom is perfectly acceptable, but venting in front of customers is not.

Yea, I'm a cashier and I watch my coworkers do that sometimes. They try talking to me about a customer like that and I just glare at them. It's very unprofessional and rude. I truthfully wouldn't be upset watching a coworker being let go over so many times of the same offences.
