It's almost time to go home, I can't wait. Of course there is a snowstorm going on right now (BOO!) but I guess it means we might have a white Christmas, though there is rain in the forecast so who knows. I booked Friday off, along with Monday and the time between Christmas and New Years I can't wait!! My son will be in daycare Friday so I have to go to Canadian tire to get some jars (inspired to make bacon jam) and a couple other little things. Then cleaning for the day. And playing with the kitten. I may attempt to make some beef jerky, so mini buddy if you like such a thing let me know and I'll also hopefully be making some bacon caramel chocolate pretzel bark. I love bacon. And some cream for my son's eczema (and possibly some for my mini train buddy). It's unscented and works great as hand cream for dry hands in the winter, along with eczema lol. So, busy days ahead! But first I have to get out of here!! I want to go home now.

And I love the bracelet, very cool and pretty. No way I can make such a thing lol.

I tested out the Bacon Jam... OMG amazing for anyone who loves bacon! I had it spread on toast, and then topped with a fried egg.. yummy! I think I'm going to try it at Christmas, on top of Brie that's baked in the oven, then all that oozey goozey goodness to spread on a cracker. Let me know how your's turns out, I think for next time I'll reduce the sugar just a tiny bit.
(p.s. keep in mind if you are storing it on the shelf, it has to be processed in a pressure canner, my two bits on food safety, lol!)

    Bacon is ALWAYS a yes.

The bracelet is beautiful but too small and dainty for me. I like BIG CHUNKY bracelets.

Beef Jerky... ANYONE on this train can send me beef jerky. ANYTIME. I love it. No, love is an understatement. I am addicted to it. If I didn't eat anything else in the world, I would be okay.

I also love homemade dried sausage/salami... things like that.

But, I'm a "mild to medium" kind of spicy person.. too hot and a cry like a wuss. Hubby loves things HOT! (Like me) <--

I am sooo excited for my buddy to get her mini package.

it is a good deal if you can't stack like peachykeen said although I haven't been able to stack in a looooong time, LD and Save on Foods seem to be getting very mean about it now. not worth the stress everytime for me. I always am so organized and have it all laid out and then they read through it and say I can't do it even though I know I can.

Day 18 I received from my awesome buddy Juliejolie, a good quality clear top coat for nailpolish. Thinking I might try one of those fancy shmancy Christmas Nail art designs that I see on Pinterest, and this will be awesome to protect it! Now... do I do Santa? Rudolph? How do I decide??

Lol.. nope, bacon jam isn't quite like that.. although I do have a giant size jar of bacon grease in the fridge right now that I don't know if I should throw out, or save to baste the turkey. (Yes, my arteries are hardening just thinking about it..) Definitely I couldn't eat it on bread!

Bacon jam is like a marmalade.. mine was made with onions and garlic sauteed, then add brown sugar, black coffee, maple syrup and a little cider vinegar. Boil it for a bit, then add bacon that's been cooked and chopped. Simmer that for a couple hours (mine took 3!) until its cooked down and thick and syrupy. Blend it just slightly in a food processor until everything is mixed, but still a little texture.

    Pure awesomeness...

Blender? Immersion style hand blender? You could make it without, I'd just suggest chopping the onions and bacon quite fine before cooking, if you aren't able to mix it afterwards.. Won't affect the taste, just will be a little chunkier..

Ooh.. and yes, black coffee that's already been brewed.. strong coffee. If you want the recipe, let me know and I can send you the link..

I am interested in this bacon jam - I have seen the commercial for PC bacon Marmalade or something. ThinkGeek.com has all kinds of bacon things - last year I got my dd bacon lip chap and it was SO GROSSSS - it smelled like dog food.

You should just post the link here for us all lol....

I love beef jerky too, the gal I work with makes it all the time and it is so good, sometimes too hot for me but I eat it anyways.
