I've been laid off a full year now and still unable to get employment (yes, I have applied everywhere, lets not go there today thank you), and my EI has run out.
Christmas was already looking like it would be bad because there is only one income coming in

But to add insult to injury, SO got laid off today.

Just going to hide out for awhile & probably won't be around much. It's going to be a very bad Christmas this year and it makes me feel bad for the kids as gifts are just not affordable (they are teenagers so nothing is cheap).

I'm very sorry to hear that. Hope y'all get some new better jobs soon. If all else fails, anyone can make BIG money in SW Saskatchewan (Swift Current area) these days with the oil boom.

If it helps, you all probably qualify for Sally Ann programs - gifts for children, even teens. Maybe give them a call. C'mon back to the forum when you're ready.
