You could start sending back pictures of yourself or if you have a pet, one photo of yourself for every photo they send you :D.
I'd just tell them you appreciate the thought but you just don't have room.
If you don't want to say anything you can just throw out the pics or put them in a photo album.Try out the maven box by julep And code FREEFB, and get your box for one cent:

i think it's one thing to toss a wallet sized or a 4 by 6 in a envelope along with a christmas card (aka something to watch the child grow, something you can put on the fridge for a few months then it comes down and goes into the drawer with the rest of the fridge photos) but it's a whole nother level to constantly give framed 8 by 10's of your child as a gift.. the only person i ever give an 8 by 10 is grandparents, and thats maybe once a year christmas photo in addition to whatever else they get for christmas

Update: I received a 5x7 in a frame, plus 4 wallet sized photos, and a card with a photo all of the same kid. What the h-e-double hockey sticks do I want with all those photos of your kid?
I am tempted to hand the one person that gives these ridiculous photos a photo of myself, husband and cat next year. I wouldn't expect anyone else to receive such a gift though. It's totally self-absorbed. I do know that in a few months when I have my child, I will definitely reciprocate.
While I get that they are my nieces and nephews and that I've recently moved 800 km away, I still don't want the photos. We see them often enough on Skype. I can see them grow and communicate with them. It's enough already!

This year, the school offered a package where they emailed you a high-resolution pic that you can print as you like. Works great!
As for the folks who get piles of framed and/or large pics of nephews, etc., I agree, not something to send to everyone. We gave a 5x7 to MIL (not framed) and one to my Mom (framed, but she's in a nursing home and this is her only grandchild).

I can see pictures to grandparents or great grandparents (I have done that with my own kids (the only grand kids/great grand kids on either side) but I only gave 4x5s I think... and the other time I put several in a scrap book frame but that only went to grandparents aunts and uncles got cookies

I must be the minority, I love getting the pictures, the side of my fridge is full of pictures of other peoples kids and when people come to my home they head straight for the fridge to see who has been added. OP I would gently tell the people you see the kids enough that you don't require the photos and as they are very costly maybe they would like to send them off to others who don't get to see the kids. That way no feelings are hurt.

We have boxes of photos that we don't know what to do with. We get wallet size photos of our grandchildren during the school year, and thats enough. We have never, nor have our children given out a photo as a gift. IMO decorating a home is a peronal choice and if I received a picture as a gift, I would feel bad if I didn't display it in my home. I would rather receive just a nice card from someone, never mind the photo.
We all need a little sunshine every now and then

I generally have to beg for photos of my nieces and nephews.
I can tell you from experience that if one of those children is lost, every photo you have will be precious to you.
If you don't want to put them on your wall, just put them in a photo box or album.

We have a very small home, 7 grandchildren and we love them all equally. We don't have wall room for large frames with footprints, handprints and pictures. Also it would be very unfair to "showcase" certain grandchildren over the others. So I guess these large pics will stay in the closet.

I have also lost a nephew. While it's great to have received tons of photos of them, I still agree with the OP. They received 6 photos of the same kid this year for Christmas. If all those photos were the same, I would probably just throw some of them out. If you have tons of room in your home, then keep them. It depends upon how much room you want to devote to other people's kids. I personally loved my nephew, but in the end, I only kept one photo. It's a photo of him and myself. I don't care about the school photos and other impersonal photos, I only cared about the one we were both in together. Perhaps consider keeping a photo like that around.

I always get pictures of my niece and nephew, and I love them. That being said.. my brother and sister-in-law would never give me a 8x10! I am happy with my 4x6's and wallet sized photos
