Canada Student Loans Information

Just in case you didn't already hear about it...

The Canada student loan lost the information of students with loans from 2000-2006. They lost names, birth dates, Social Insurance Numbers, and student loan data. They have a phone number to call if you suspect your information was lost, which is on the canlearn.ca website. There is a lawyer creating a class action lawsuit for the students that are affected.

I just got my letter in the mail yesterday :S It said that they'd red my credit for 6 years (asking for more info than usual if I, or someone trying to be me is trying to get credit). Though after doing some research, it appears that this service is already available for free....or next t free....to anyone...at anytime......making it appear that the government is actually doing nothing about this. "We just wanted to inform you that we lost all your personal information....period". Good ol' government.
