Hope everyone enjoyed their day.

We got lots of sn*w (well, lots for downtown, nearly 3 inches). With the wind, there were patches that were deeper....silly Lily dog got her nose half frozen by sticking it into the snow to breath in the winter (poor thing spent a half hour sneezing when we came in). With the white nose, she looked like Rudolph's illegitimate off-spring.
I've got the heat turned up but Lily dog and I can't get the chill out of our bones. Quincy just laughs at us for being foolish enough to brave the cold. I'd take him outside if I wasn't quite so frozen.
Off to check out all I missed in SC land.
Night all.

Good evening one and all.
Busy day today and fortunately I did not have to venture outside. Even Ms Diva did not quite get to the door before she backed up in reverse so fast.... she never bothered me to go out the rest of the day!
I am glad she left me alone. I began doing my actual job today and was on the phone with some great people.
One in fact sent me an email telling me what my first name means in his native language.
Did we ever find out who the winner was for the Who contest?
I had no chance to check in all day.
Lee good luck to your daughter on her stitches being removed.
I am just about ready for bed.....

evening Q sters,
what a difference a bridge makes. after leaving work & heading over the skyway, it was like entering a winter wonderland. traffic was almost stopped at guelph line & the road was covered in white stuff. we had sun in the hammer all day long. headed up guelph line & by the time i got to milton, the white stuff had tapered off. the roads were free & clear of white stuff the rest of the way home. it was weird that it just affected burlington to toronto & just south of derry. mother nature works in mysterious ways.
night Q sters, see you in the morning.NASCAR SEASON is complete for 2021.
Kyle Larson wins his 1st Nascar Championship.

nascar:a way of life
everything else is just a game

This is incredible and I enjoyed it so much I sent it out on a tweet.
I do not have much time on twitter, yet I cannot believe how much time some 'famous'
people spend tweeting. Don't they have better things to do with their time & $$$.?
Hey they could send me some and I would be happy to spend it for them
Sunita Williams (the commander) created this video a few hours before she left space.
Sunita Williams was in charge of the International Space Station for six months. On her last day in space, she made this 25-minute video — a much more in-depth tour of the ISS than I've personally ever seen before. This is the first time I've actually been able to get a sense of the whole interior layout of the ISS, rather than just seeing one place and then another with no understanding of how they connect. What's more, you really get a sense of the unearthly weirdness of moving through this space where walls are never just walls and "up" and "down" are essentially meaningless.
The video includes a detailed (but safe for work) demonstration of how to use the ISS bathroom; a behind-the-scenes peek of the pantry (with separate pantries for Russian and Japanese food); a visit to the Soyuz craft waiting to take Williams home; and the vertigo-inducing horror pod where all the really great pictures of Earth get taken.

Here is another video that blew me away....
Chinese hotel construction...
They now plan to erect the world’s tallest building using the same technique.
Incredible... and do you think this could be done with the Unions in the US...
Hardly possible. Guess that's why we have to borrow money from them!
The world is changing.
This 30 story Hotel took 15 days to erect! Notice each of the sections already
have electric and plumbing installed and were tested for accuracy, all prior to
them leaving the factory.
It appears that those "sections" formed and pre-tested at the factory, fit together
like leggo building blocks.
And look at the earthquake resistance level - a 9.0.

It was a very long day for me.... I'm surprised my eyes are still open... my boss told me that she was sending me an invite to a meeting tomorrow, and I asked her not to make it too early.... she set it for 10:30... what a great boss I have!!!

My daughter's appointment went well today, but he really didn't say much... He was pleased, but I guess we have to wait until our follow up appointment March 1st when he does x-rays... then we'll know for sure how the bone has healed... finger's crossed...
The drive to and from Whitby today was crazy!!! Sn*w from Airport road to the 400 on the 407 this morning and then sunny skies!! Then we hit it again in roughly the same place on the way back west!! My daughter went back to Waterloo after the appointment and said that the drive back was fine once she passed Vaughan... I can't believe how isolated the weather was....
night, night all....
