Earlier this week I redeemed my airmiles for a $50 SDM GC at Shell to spend at today's 20X the points
Here is what I got:
2 x Huggies Pullups @ $17.99 - $2.00 printable coupon= $31.98 & 3000 BP coupon
1 x PB @ $3.99 - $1 save.ca coupon = $2.99
1 x gummy vitamins @ $6.99 - $2 coupon = $4.99
4 x diet coke 750 ml = $11.99
Total was $56.78 - $50.00 GC = $6.78 OOP
Points earned:
Regular PTs: 570
Coupon BP: 3000
20x PTs: 10830
Total PTs: 14400
I also had them scan my 8000 BP coupon when you spend $50 but I'm not sure if I'll get those points as they awarded after the fact.
I was just thrilled to spend $6.78 oop and get 14,400 points thanks to my airmiles. This thread is currently associated with: Air Miles, Huggies, Pharmaprix, Save.ca Coupons, Shell, Shoppers Drug Mart

Nice, I didn't know you could redeem airmiles for a SDM gc. That's great.

What a good idea! I'm just waiting for my final batch of Air Miles to go through to order one final 'night out at the movies' package and then I'm switching over to Air Miles cash. The program doesn't seem to be as good as it once was (I took a years long hiatus from collecting AM) and so it seems like their cash program is the way to go now. That's for the tip about Shell! Do you know if we can do the same at Metro?

The only places that use airmiles cash in Alberta is Rona and Shell. So you might want to double check what is available in your area. I got the idea from cheekysaver.

Way to go!!! I have a question about the air miles. Can you explain how it works? Can I go into Shell and buy gift certificates that are worth more than $10? I was reading on the air miles site that you can only redeem for $10 at a time. I am sure there is something I am not understanding, as I read here that others are able to buy $50 gcs. I think I have about $30 worth in points. Thanks for posting!

Here is how I understand it. You can redeem 95 airmiles for $10 and you can only redeem in $10 increments. I think airmiles limits the amount you can redeem in a day but it is something like $700. So if the item you are purchasing is $25.00, you would redeem for $20 airmiles and pay $5 oop. I found that when I looked at the GC at Shell, the minimum seemed to be $50 so I saved up my airmiles until I had enough for the GC. I hope this helps.

Thank you! That's awesome! I am going to go check out the gift card selection at my Shell. I am kind of thinking I may participate in the buy $50 get 25 air miles promo this weekend. I was thinking of buying the $20 in gas and then a grocery gift card. My total would probably be $70(if the gift cards are $50) and I would pay with my air miles cash($30). Making my total $40, for $20 gas and $50 gift card. Have you tried that before? I hope my Shell has grocery gift cards.
