My dad is like that too. Mom had to drag him into the ER when he crushed the tip of this finger right off... (graphic, sorry), and he would not take the antibiotics! he kept "forgetting"... Sure enough he ended up in the hospital on IV antibiotics because it got too bad... Hopefully he learned his lesson. Men are so stubborn sometimes.

Personally, i hate it when anyone, male or female, goes into work when sick..If you are ill stay at home..

Annoy your beloved if you have to and if possible do what you can from home...

Please don't bring your germs to work..

I wish managers in retail would get this. I've heard from so many people from all different workplaces that somebody will try to call in sick and the manager will say no, you have to come in, I can't find anyone else to fill this shift blah blah blah. And it's EXCELLENT for business when a cashier is coughing and sneezing all over a customer's purchases. We can all sympathize with the poor cashier who has to work in that condition, but yuck!

Then these managers lose it when EVERYBODY is suddenly sick! A whole department is dying where they stand and the manager is losing their marbles because now they literally have NOBODY because the guy they didn't let take a sick day infected everyone else.

Especially when you work with the public getting sick is going to happen. Sick people LOVE going out in public, especially to do mundane tasks like mailing a letter or buying a TV guide, and you just KNOW they're gonna hack all over your air.

Everybody should just take a sick day if they need to, and everyone should be allowed a sick day when they feel like death, no questions asked.
