Thread: How to delete/deactivate account

I am really disappointed by some of the negative comments from people on this site. It seems like every time I have posted something someone has posted a negative comment. Although the majority of the comments are positive I find the negativity is getting worse and I am seriously considering getting ride of my account.
Any advice on how I can go about this if and when I decide I have had enough? This thread is currently associated with: N/AStart your savings with Ing direct orange key: 14063041S1

I guess you can ask to be permanently banned. I never did understand why someone would ask this question; personally, if I had enough, I would just turn off all my notifications and refrain from going on the site again. This is not meant to be snarky in any way, I just never understood the need for any drama.

There is no way to delete your own account.
You can contact Boo Radley by PM to have an account removed, or like marstec mentioned, just turn off all notifications and not log in again
But if you are having an issue with negativity or users being rude, PM a mod and let us know or report the threads

I don't want drama but just like facebook or any other site I thought I could delete my account. I find it a little annoying that we can't actually! I wonder if I would have signed up if I would have known that.

As I mentioned, you can have Boo delete it
Facebook doesn't actually delete your account, my BF deleted his, went to sign up again and all his old posts were still there

There are reasons most forums do not allow you to delete an account yourself. If your replies are missing in a thread (along with others who would delete their account) threads would make no sense because of the missing posts.
