Police in Connecticut arrest man who pulled rifle-like BB gun as Obama motorcade passed

Authorities say the man was pacing back and forth and then pulled the gun Monday as the motorcade returned from a speech the president gave on gun control at the University of Hartford.

Just after President Obama wrapped up a speech calling for gun control reform, a man brandished a rifle-like BB gun at his motorcade as he returned to a Connecticut airport.
Police said the man was pacing back and forth before pulling out the gun as the presidential motorcade passed by on Cottage Grove Road in Bloomfield on its way to Bradley International Airport.
Officers took the man into custody by force when he pulled out the gun, authorities said.

The President made his latest call for tighter gun control in the state where 20 children and six educators were gunned down in their classrooms in December.
Obama was joined by relatives of the slain Sandy Hook Elementary School students and teachers at the University of Hartford as he urged Americans to demand that Congress hold a vote on “common-sense” gun control measures.
Police have not released the name of the man who pulled the gun or the charges against him.

He is expected to be arraigned in Hartford Superior Court on Tuesday.
After his speech, Obama traveled back to Washington on Air Force One with 12 family members of Sandy Hook victims.
The grieving relatives are expected to lobby senators in memory of their loved ones on Tuesday, as the chamber is scheduled to begin debate on gun control legislation.

It was the first thing in my news feed after I got back from dropping DS off, I heard nothing while driving, weird??

It is weird but it isn't. In the US if something revolves around guns looking bad it tends to take a bit longer to be reported in US media than anywhere else. I haven't read anything in Canadian media either but our Government is in bed with theirs so no surprise I did find something across the pond though!
