It wasn't my head, but I've had 2 c-sections, one with staples and one with stitches. The nurses toss you in the shower as soon as you can walk. Just make sure its dried really well. I was told to use a hair drier on them and don't rub at them.

ok. well lets see.. we could use a nice new clock (one with arms) for our living room. gold/brassish..
    some more lightbulbs.
if you can find some cheap of those metal catchers that you put under the burner... you know what i mean.(not the tin things) i could use 3 of the small ones and one large one..
maybe some small glasses for like orange juice.
four nice decorator pillows that match our black living room chairs.

    does that help
    Be Strong
    Be True
    Be You.
    Simple as that!

Evening Ladies! I'm back from the cottage. Had a nice weekend, went shopping in Barrie today with my MIL!

Delivered the postcard (my sister ended up getting it to my mum before she left for Vegas), it was cool but bittersweet. The lady I delivered it to was quite old (in her 80s at the least), the postcard was from her son. She told me that her son & her granddaughter had gone done to South America a couple months back, the postcard was dated February 23rd. Apparently her granddaughter had breast cancer but was recovering well/or had beat it but now she is very very sick she got all teary eyed telling me, but seemed really pleased to receive the postcard.

my sister has a postcard to deliver to Ajax sometime soon, so I let you all know how that goes for her. then I am executing one to be delivered to me at some point in the future!

had a fabulous time at the green show. Got to sample all sorts of green products! Tried some raw organic green juice so good, looking into possibly having some delivered.

Anywho...my head is back to just a headache now. Hopefully on the mends.

Those in this thread that suffer from migraines, what works for you?

I try my best to catch them right away, and take a combination of ibuprofen and acetaminophen. It doesn't always work though.

Off to get caught up with questions...
    sorry to hear

I used to get a lot of really bad migraines in high school & the only thing that work for me was Tylenol (I can't have ibuprofen) & sleep. After school I got them less regularly (once a month). Now (knock on wood) I only get them a couple times a year. After I went through my whole food sensitives - cutting out certain foods, then fixing the sensitives through a naturopath I got a lot less, so food was definitely a trigger for me but I am not sure which food. My current way of dealing with my migraines is to take Tylenol as soon as I get the aura (which is how mine start 95% of the time &/or this weird sensation where my hands & arms don't feel/look like hey are attached to my body, as if I am looking down from above on someone else's hands/arms ), then if I can go to bed in a dark room with a cold flannel on my forehead/eyes (that's where my pain is centred). I also use this goat's milk lavender cream that I put a bit on just under my nose so I can breathe it in. My aunt suffered from really horrible migraines & she used Imatrix (sp?), though her migraines have lessened greatly post-menopause.

Buddy - I found a couple of things yesterday that I could definitely add to my wishlist.

    - Walmart has Martha Stewart cupcake papers called 'lace' or something like that...they're white with grey designs on them in their cake decorating/crafting section. I was able to get 2 packs of 48 but I need one more for my wedding! (They only had 2 in the store).
    - 6" cake pan or an 8" cake pan
    - mini loaf pan
    - regular envelopes
    - paper clips (how is it that you have so many of them that you think you'll never run out, and then...)
    - mini loaf pan papers
    - plastic safety plugs for the electrical receptacles so Alexa doesn't electrocute herself
i have a whole load of safety plugs for electrical outlets if you want, most of my plugs are hidden behind furniture so DD can reach them anyways!

Matthew tried to get them open for a good few minutes but they wouldn’t budge. Not ONE door. Forget it, ok, take a snow day. Great, I’m grounded home for the day. Well, so much for getting an early jump on grocery shopping. Headache was still blazing…perfect start to the day.

We started to straighten up a bit, but he was feeling crummy too (he’s getting the flu). So we watched tv for a while and chatted. Then I said ok, let’s resume cleaning up…ding dong….ok who is that? We didn’t finish straightening up yet L. Surprise company? Who is at the door? It was Canada Post delivering THIS monstrous box! Hmm what could it be, what could it be? I remembered briefly reading someone in the thread already mailed their package to their buddy. Hmm…could it be?? YUP, it was MY box!! Holy cow, are you serious?? I’m STILL shopping for my buddy.

The mailman said whatever it is, it’s HEAVY! Ok, I took the box and put it in the corner as I was wiping down my cupboards and was going to resume the dishes when Matthew shouted...”OPEN IT NOWWW MOM!!” LOL…so I gave in and did!! Dishes and cupboards be damned! Here’s what was inside:

Things I got in my package from Armygirl_29
    :

    • Wilton Cake pop mold (OMG, OMG, OMG! I can’t believe you got it for me!! J)
    • Lollipop sticks for above (I’m guessing they’re also good for lollipops to??) LOL!!
    • Duncan Hines Frosting Creations – Frosting
    • Duncan Hines Flavour mixes - peppermint stick, pink lemonade and fruit punch

    For my daughter Melissa
I haven’t opened her box, although I wanted to. I thought I will let her open it and let us both be surprised. Once she gets home from work later this evening, I will update this post with the contents of the box.

Armygirl_29, thank you so, so much for the amazingly sweet and thoughtful package! Geez, I think “thank you” can’t express my gratitude to you. Your kindness and generosity has overwhelmed me. I am deeply touched by the thought and care you put into my package. It was really like Christmas morning!! Honestly! I love everything you picked out for me – absolutely everything! I’m so excited to use my cake pop mold, which I will probably do tomorrow…after I go to the gym…HAHAH!!

You went over and above the requirements of this train and I DO feel truly spoiled rotten today! I was having a pretty crummy day until the mailman rang the doorbell. I packed everything back in the box for Melissa to open when she gets home as she is helping me with my buddy list and I want her to see how generous you were to me.

    Thank you again!!
    awesome package!

Sorry for lack of posting. Daughter was hospitalized early in the week with the stomach flu. I got it last night. H is just starting with it now. DD2 is starting to feel yucky too but she is supposed to be on a school bus at 5 am for a week long trip to Edmonton. Not sure what to do!
hope you are all feeling better soon!

Been on my brain for two weeks!

I am Chair of the Parent Council at my kids school(s) and we are hosting our annual Cake Walk at the elementary school on the 19th...

With the new Healthy Eating initiative mandated by the MOE, we can only have 10 days each school year that do not comply with the regulations, which means that we either lose MAJOR fundraisers, or try to coordinate them...

I run/organize Hot Dog Day and the Cake Walk, and we are hosting them both on Friday.

In addition, we had booked a Family Movie Night for Friday (the 12th), but what with the ice storm and all, we had to reschedule to ~ you guessed it ~ the 19th!

Going to be a VERY LONG and busy day!

Wondering how Emma is going to hold up...

Have to be at the school around 7am to have stuff set up for 7:30 when the cakes/cupcakes start arriving, and the movie doesn't start until 7 pm, which means that by the time it ends and we finish clean up, we will be at the school for around 15 hours!

Long day for a 4 year old!

Feel free to send me your 'lucky' vibes in recruiting more volunteers!
    yikes, good luck!

Saw a question about dishwasher tabs. Buddy, I am the last person on the planet without a dishwasher. I wanted a house with 4+ bedrooms in a newer neighbourhood. Had to sacrifice and buy a house with a galley kitchen.

I got a pedicure gift certificate at Christmas but I M waiting for warmer weather so that other people (other than me) can actually see it, otherwise it feels a bit lie a waste to me lol

Mine has kind of sucked, lol. As I mentioned earlier our dishwasher is on the fritz (it would work like once every 3 cycles) and I finally got DH to take it out of the kitchen and what happens? Our kitchen sink gets clogged. I've tried everything I can think of to fix it. Tried boiling water + baking soda + vinegar...newp. Tried a coat hanger down the drain...newp. Tried liquid plumr...newp. DH opened up the trap and tried cleaning it....newp. Such a pain in the behind. It won't even slowly drain it doesn't drain at all...and it fills up both sinks. Arrrggh. If anyone has any other suggestions I'd love to hear 'em! BIL has a plumber friend that's gonna come over "sometime" this week but I'll try anything to fix it before hand, lol.
A plumber's snake? Hubby got one of these to fix our bathtub drain that kept getting clogged, worked like a charm!

Sorry I have been MIA for a couple days.....was a busy weekend here!

We had that crazy ice storm Thursday/Friday to deal with....we weren't too bad in my area, just random power outages!

My truck's defrost crapped out on the way home from work Thursday night - so I am now car less until Tuesday le sigh! Apparently it is my heater core ....$500+ later I will have heat and defrost.....just in time for warmer weather lol

Saturday I went to my first ever barter event.....basically like a garage sale, but you trade goods and services (no money is exchanged!) super fun! I make home made dog treats, so traded them for soap, necklaces, crocheted baby ballet slippers, cookies and other random things!

Today, we were off to Orangeville for mom's early b-day lunch then had to rush home to get changed and off to derby practice.

I am exhaused.....off to shower and then bed! My ride to work comes extra early

will have to wait until Tuesday to shop for my buddy - hoping to mail by the end of the week
