The Air Miles deal - is it when you spend $50 at the Air Miles Shop online?

For about a buck worth of ingredients from bulk barn you can make a nice fancy gourmet bread , which normally costs 4-5 bucks in most stores !

If you are making regular bread , I guess its not worth it , except that its going to be fresh and without any preservatives etc

Thanks for the heads up...I bought this through the Airmiles site using my GCs I've earned through Swagbucks...I should get an additional 150 airmiles which is cool...but noted in my calendar to check for the airmiles because it says it can take up to 75 days from the end of the promotion to add them to my account!! baggypants

I hope you bought 50 bucks and not 49.99 , as I believe the bonus miles are for 50 bucks.

You might need a filler item for it

    75 DAYS?!?!?!?!

TJthemanto, I can't find it in the reviews, but does the bread maker make corn bread or breads with grains other than wheat? Or is it a wheat only machine. Not sure how it works.

In a bread machine you can make pretty much anything - I have an old Westbend and it's still going strong.

Mine had a good instruction booklet for making other things aside from just white bread, eg. rye, pizza dough, cinnamon buns - and there will be directions for using difference cycles for different breads.

You would be able to use different recipes you find, as long as they 'fit' within the 2 lb guideline.

Mind you, if I'm not baking something directly in the breadmaker, just using the dough cycle, I can get away with using bigger recipes. For example, a 2 lb loaf takes 2 c flour, but it will mix and knead dough which uses 3 cups.

I am worried about the electricity ( hydro ) cost on this one .

From the money point of view if you include the cost of the ingredients and the hidden cost ( hydro ) ..is it cheaper to make regular bread in this or buy one in the store ?

But the home bread is going to be healthier , fresher and preservative free ..even if it turns out to be more expensive

Thank you Natalka . We've always made dough by hand (mother-daughter on special occasions). Maybe we can eat more carbs this way. Mmmm
