If anyone lives in the lower mainland and has taken the 321 either to Newton Exchange/White Rock or to Surrey Central then you probably know how incredibly unreliable this darn bus is compared to the other ones!
I work near Newton Exchange and usually work till about 11 at night, I'm a 21 year old woman who has to wait for her bus, at night, 5 nights a week, near drunks and crackheads and I expect the bus to be on time or just 5 maybe 10 min late depending if it's a weekend or not. I understand sometimes things happen and a bus can't be exactly on time all the time, I totally get that! But my bus is ALWAYS late, by 10-30 min.
The bus stop pole says the bus comes at 10:50pm on Saturdays, my manager lets me off early so that I can catch that bus and not have to wait till 11:20 for the next one. Last Saturday the bus didn't show up until 11:15! There was a oddly large line up waiting for the bus too.
I e-mailed Translink complaining about it, didn't swear, didn't use name-calling, I acted like a big girl (pat on the back) and was told "Thank you for your recent feedback regarding the bus coming to your stop behind schedule. The 10:50pm departure starts from White Rock."
.. Am I the only one thinking they misunderstood me? Why would you post on the sign in Newton that the bus leaves White Rock at 10:50 .. and if that's true, then why do all the other buses in the lower mainland tend to show up at the time marked on the pole?

    *stupid transit butt heads*

That bites! I would phone transit and ask to speak to a higher up and complain. I take transit where I live and once in awhile the buses are late if one breaks down, weather etc. But to be late all the time is crazy. If they changed the schedule they should post it whether its at the bus stop, on the transit website etc. I use to take the bus late at night and it can be scary especially if you have characters around that make you feel unsafe.

I've tried calling them 3 times and I've been hung up all 3 times once they say they need to transfer me to the right department.

Customer service dept is hanging up on your calls? Time to use their social media sites for action. See if you can add a top executive contact on the communication.

Mr. Kelsey, COO, is in charge of operations and safety.

I don't see any alerts/delay notices for 321, only a notice about September changes to bus bays for certain routes.

    Bay 2 – 321 Surrey Central Station

I know this pain somewhat. In my early twenties I used to work at the Bingo Hall in newton sometimes and would have to bus it back to the Skytrain fairly late at night because I lived in Burnaby. This was about 10 years ago, and the bus service was questionable then as well, but what you are experiencing is beyond ridiculous. Definitely not an area you want to hang around in for long.

I know it's probably a pain in the butt, but I agree with others, you should be diligent in contacting someone who can address your concerns without a generic reply.

This kind of reminds me of Canada post issues... they make it EXTREMELY difficult to contact anyone or comment on their services.

It's like these huge companies that are run by the gov't are avoiding any critism or change/shake up. So ridiculous. ...Good luck, hope you are able to speak to someone of importance.
