Pricematching at Target has been the easiest price matching experience I've ever had

    Sobeys also does not PM

    foodland doesn't either.

I think pretty much all the grocery stores that market themselves as high end/full service stores, do not PM.

target does, but if you plan using a target coupon + manufacturer coupon, they have a crappy policy, you should read it

Their policy is to accept both... that's amazing. What's crappy about it?

I get to buy something on sale, use a Target coupon and use a manuf. coupon, and get something for pennies.

I know! That's a major reason why I go there. No one in Canada will let you mix store and manufacturer coupons... AND they smile through the whole transaction.

their policy is that if you PRICEMATCH, they will use the target coupon, if price is still higher, THEN they will pricematch it to your price, and all you have left is your manufacturer coupon to use.......thats why i think its crappy. unless the item is on sale at target, you may as well just pricematch at any store and use your manufacturer coupon.

i used to be able to find it on the target website, but on other coupon website i found this
"If you’re stacking coupons, the Target coupon will be applied before the price match is made. If the competitor price is still lower than the price after the Target coupon has been deducted, the price match will be adjusted to match the competitor’s price. Once the price match is made, the manufacturer coupon will be applied."

So it's their pricematch policy you don't like? The way your post read, it seemed like you didn't like that they accepted both coupons.

I'm find with them doing this. Using a Target coupon is bringing down their price BY X amount. Price matching is bringing down them price TO X amount. They're still reducing.

Their coupon policy is great, in my opinion. No one else will accept both

what you have to realize is when they PM or when they offer a Store Coupon, they are giving you a discount out of their own pocket.

    you have 2 options.

either pricematch, or use the store coupon, but you cannot use both. that is completely reasonable and fair, because either way they are letting you reduce the price of the item without it having to be on sale within their own store.

in their policy they are wording it in a way that basicly means "pick the option that will give you the lowest price, but you can't price match and then use our coupon to lower it even further"

after you have lowered the selling price they still let you use a manufacturer's coupon. how awesome is that?!

i say we totally win in this scenario. to heck with optimum points, Target is my new favourite store

Would have to agree--went over there and going to get a price match on stuff that was avail at wal mart...turns out they had already dropped the price to match the ad...now that's easy!!

Seriously talked to a staff member--just bring the flyer with you to a cashier (doesn't work at self-check out), and you should be good to go, just like at Wal Mart. (and of course, when I was a WM earlier this week getting a price match from the Target flyer, I pointed this out to staff, and they said, well you're buying it here! Good attitude!!)

I don't understand where the complaints about the price matching and Target Exclusive coupons have come from, unless its from a post that wasn't entirely 100% correct at another month-of-the-year named site? You CAN price match and use Target and a MF coupon as well. The Target coupon gets reduced first if the total of the coupons is more than the pricematched price of the item, which is no different than having a MF coupon reduced at SDM because it exceeds the cost of the item.

I've been shopping, price matching and stacking at Target for 6 months now. I have been able get so much for free, and I've hardly been back to Walmart since they opened. You have to decide if it's worth reducing your TE coupon or just paying cash for the item- example: I price matched hot dogs on for sale for .88, but had a TE $1 coupon; I got the hot dogs for free with the TE coupon reduced to .88. I may have lost .12, but I'd rather do that than pay out the .88. If my $1 TE coupon in combination with the MF coupon was going to be reduced to .12 AFTER price matching, I'd reconsider and probably buy instead 2 packs with the 2 coupons.
