Just a quick reminder that the sooner these all arrive, the sooner we can start the advent train, so if your package is going far, you might want to mail on the earlier side of the mail dates (or Tami and Slammy will whine at you)

Hey buddy - my dog just bit a little girl who was playing with Jackson, sadly that is something we can't stand for, so if you got anything for the dog you could just maybe take it back, or not send it. He won't be with us for too much longer. Seems like I always lose my pets around holidays.

that's sad. I'm glad that you recognize that though. I'm a huge dog lover, but I do think that dogs are dogs, and most people do not recognize their behaviors and that some things shouldn't just be brushed off. My neighbor's dog lunged and snapped at Alexa last week. I was sitting on the floor with her about 4 ft away. She wasn't reaching for him etc, but something didn't sit well with him and he lunged. They had a Baby last week. So she acknowledged it...put the dog on his lead etc, but when I was talking to her mom Thursday, I told her what had happened. Explained that I wasn't upset etc but that as a heads up, they may have problems down the road because even if the dog is ok with their little boy, he may not be with other kids and not all situations will necessarily end up as easily as it did with Alexa. She started going on about how they'd never put the dog down etc so good luck. Uhhhh....I didn't really know how to respond cause i hadnt said anythinglike that...I just don't get it though. Like not everyone would be as chilled out as me about it...anyway, it's really sad you guys won't have your dog anymore Gwennad, but I agree that children's safety is number one.

We're at the cottage this weekend. Have the parents of my best childhood friend Tanya up. Sad but OK. They're coping well I think and adore Alexa...they are all over taking her for walks and bath time and feelings etc. I think this is a good weekend for them

Alexa turns 1 on Thursday! She is into musical stuff, books, puzzles andproblem solving stuff. She actually only picked up a stuffie yesterday and actually paid attention to it for the first time. The daycare teachers say she opulent care less about the make believe toys or dolls etc.

Jody, is Cory in post grad already?!? Or is that just the plan....18?

Gwennad - I wouldn't worry too much about figuring out what Jackson will be in to. He'll guide you, just like with the dinosaurs! My friends have a 4 year old and are all about the outdoors and being low key. Their daughter asked to have her ears pierced for a year and they finally just caved, and she came home saying she wants make up. Definitely not influenced by her parents...it's coming from school lol. My friend is getting her some Flavoured blistex and some bubble bath.

I so wish I saw this earlier. I'm so sorry this incident happened. Please, if you haven't taken any action yet, please pm me. I promise I might be able to help both you and your dog. As unfortunate as it is, there are so many valid reasons why this sort of thing happens but, more importantly, it can be fixed. There are also some amazing rescues in your area who can work with some dogs with a bite history. There are several options for you so don't give up hope.

Yeah I've had some issues with the dog for awhile, we've been working on it and he's better on walks. This little girl was out front playing with Jackson and just came barging in the house, I didn't even know they were playing together, my dad was out working in the garage and Jackson was "helping". So the dog got right into her face before I could get there. The family took her to the hospital to get checked out, her eye was swollen, he didn't get her in the eye but she's allergic so having a dog in her face would do that. But it makes me sad. No rescue will take a dog that behaves like that, so sadly this is it for the puppy. I feel bad, and we'll miss him but if Jackson is having friends over and this is how he behaves, well it's just not good. Thanksgiving is a bad time for pets in my family, my parent's lab about 10 years ago, one of my cats 7 years ago, now this. I don't know how I'm going to do it but I have to do it.

He just graduated high school in June but, on the recommendations of his teacher and a University Advisor, he successfully challenged part of the four year Engineering degree. He will do the fourth year and graduate next fall. We decided to wait a year because, socially, he isn't ready for 22 and 23 year olds. After that, he heads to Toronto for eight more years of school.

Wow - that's amazing! So UofT or Ryerson? My dad just finished telling me that Alexa is going to be a doctor. It seems to be an ongoing theme for him. I think he thinks she's going to university next year or something.
