Well I went to Walmart with some of the coupons I ordered/printed/collected to make up gift baskets for the women's shelter.
So far (as I plan on making up more baskets) I think my first trip was pretty good.
4 x stayfree $2.87 each - $2.50 coupons (4 of them)
1 free dove body wash
4 mini secret deoderant $1.27 each - $3 off wub 2 aquascience products (2 of them) (a picture of secret deoderant was on it so the cashier took it no problem)
2 mini dove body washes $1.97 each - $2.50 off wub 2
tolberone $0.97 - $1 off coupon
(I also picked up batteries for myself)
Paid $5.22 used $23 in coupons
This is my first time using this many coupons to get the cheapest price possible.
If anyone has any tips or ideas to make really great gift baskets please let me know! This thread is currently associated with: Walmart

God bless you for thinking of people in need during the Holidays! There should be more people like you.

I think that is a completely awesome thing that you are doing. I'm sure they will be truly appreciated, and kudos to you for thinking of others especially at this time of year.

what a nice thing to do for people, hopefully we don't just think of people in need at this time of year, but ALL year round!

Good job. Could you please send me the link for free dove body wash? The link that I have tried before didn't work. Many thanks in advance!

Thank you. Actually, it's not only me. Our church has given each care group (like a small group Bible study) money and we are to multiply this money (using our talents or whatever we can come up with) and help the community. I thought of the coupon idea and also a card making idea (and selling the cards). I figure with using high value coupons and using them smart we can in a way multiply the money.
We will most likely continue this longer than just the Christmas season.
For the dove body wash link - I got it here

redmouse has posted some really great pics of a few baskets she has already made, if you search for threads by her or search for pics and then see a thread started by her.

You have some great deals. Hon, I would go to the dollar store and pick up some little bins, basket or container to put your things in. They also sell clear wrap for your baskets.
