Hi:
I just received my 5.00 gas card in the mail and activated it. This is my first time getting it and using it so don't know how it works. I tried paying by it at SDM and it didn't go through, tried it again at McDonalds and didn't go through. Can anybody please tell me how it works. When you are trying to pay by the card, does the amount has to be exactly 5.00 or can you use the card if you are only paying 2.00 or on the other had if you are paying 7.00 can you pay 5.00 by this card and the balance by cash or some other card? Thank you.

You have to tell the cashier that they have to charge exactly $5 on Mastercard because it is a gift card and if they charge any more money on it it will be declined. If I explain it this way, it always goes through. Pay the rest of the balance remaining however you want.
Apply every possible promo code to your cart, at every store that you visit (and get points for cash back on top of that?). It's sweet and easy with HONEY.

Can it be used for a payment of 2 or 3 dollars as well or you have to use the whole balance as the same time?

Yes, if you have $5 on the card but want to only use it on a $1 purchase, you can.
But if the order is more than $5, you have to tell the cashier that you're paying $5 (or whatever balance you have on the card), on mastercard, and the rest you will pay with "whatever".WHATT, You aren't doing Swagbucks? http://swagbucks.com/refer/acosta22

The card says you can use it on smaller amounts, but it's up to you to remember how much is left on the card so it doesn't get declined for lack of funds later. Some of these cards, if you call to check your balance, they will remove 50 cents/whatever from the card balance as a fee. I don't know if the gas cards do this or not
Best to wait until you have a transaction of at least $5 and then use it then

I use mine each year to pay my phone bill. You can decide the amount to pay, and since our phone bill is always over $5, there's no hassles, no multiple uses, and there's a confirmation number. You can also use multiple cards on one bill, though you may have to call again.
