A lot of the locations have kindle fire and kobo. Just a matter of finding one with stock.

They also have the Sony (my favourite since it connects to libraries)

Do all the e readers connect to libraries? Need to fill in the blanks with my lack of knowledge on these devices... time to research. Great that shoppers carry these at certain locations.

SDM carries Kobos (I got mine there with a redemption). You will have to look at what your library uses, but here in Ottawa, Kobo works with the library.

Kindle doesn't borrow from libraries, however i believe that kobo does.

the genres and authors i am into aren't available much in the selection of library ebooks, my favourite author is not available at all. library doesn't really work for me as far as real reading options are concerned.

    definitely check your library selection

I haven't seen any full size kobos lately at our shopper in London, but I have seen the mini (which isn't much smaller) also I believe that Costco has the mini with a sleep cover for around$40 or so. Not a bad deal as the covers are are a ridiculous price... especially the sleep covers. If you can find an ereader that has a light... I highly recommend. I have a regular kobo that I got for christmas 2 years ago and in the summer I purchased a kobo glo on clearance for a fantastic price and definately the lighted ereader (glo) is better. In any event. save your receipt as they can be glitchy and sometimes fail so if you have your receipt you can get them replaced.

Ya It's just finding the SDM that has one in stock. They vary huge in price as well. I found sony e reader for 49.99 at a shoppers that had been sent a ton from HO but never sells them as they are in a very rural area.

I haven't seen the Kobo recently in any SDM... Last year I used to see them all the time. Now I've just been seeing tablets like the Acer and Iconia ones.

I have the Sony....works like a hot damn!! Great with libraries. Kindle is the only one that you can't access most libraries with (you have to buy their books....which sucks!).

No glare and works great in the sun even. Got my new one (second one, loved it so much) last year at SDM and no issues.
