Thread: Speakout Wireless?? Yay/Nay? Questions...

I was with Koodo and cancelled recently. The main reason is poor coverage in Manitoba.
I was looking at Speakout wireless (7-11) and they have great plans. The value plan $20.00 a month, 100 min, unlimited texting suits my needs perfectly. I understand you use top up cards each month for the value plans and no monthly bill?
I plan on using my own smart phone. I have an unlock code for it. I assume I purchase a Speakout sim card, insert it, punch in my unlock code to set it up.
I was told Speakout uses the Roger network for coverage in Manitoba (maybe also the rest of Canada?) ?? My understanding Rogers shares MTS towers in Manitoba.
If you have Speakout do you like it? Customer service good through 1-800 #(there are always good and bad apples working at cell phone companies)
Is the coverage map accurate for the coverage you receive when travelling outside major cities where you live?
Thanks! This thread is currently associated with: Rogers (Plus)

My son used them for years, just stopped last year when he realized he needed/was using a lot more data and went with Sk Tel to have a monthly plan when he bought a new smartphone from them.
For low usage, pay as you go is def the way to go, for sure. He never had any problems using Speakout with the network here in SK, mind you he didn't travel much out of Saskatoon. Yes, they use Rogers.
He never had any problems with anything at all.
We used this forum as a good resource to get info, etc.

Speakout is the best prepaid plan in Canada with top ups expiring in 365 days. That is one reason to switch to Speakout.

I signed up with Speak Out yesterday. So far so good. I had a bit of trouble unlocking my phone and had to call Koodo to troubleshoot. All good now.
