Saskatchewan had a province-wide automaidan, in support of Ukraine.
Starting at Prince Albert in the North, down to Saskatoon in central SK - joined by other cities nearby, then down to Regina in the south - where it was -40 today.

    Arrest warrant for ex-leader Yanukovych

Ukraine has issued a warrant for the arrest of ousted President Viktor Yanukovych, the country’s interim interior minister has announced.

Arsen Avakov said in a Facebook post that prosecutors had opened a criminal case against Yanukovych and other officials over “mass murder of peaceful citizens”.

And as the fallout from the revolution gathered pace on Monday morning, ministers said Yanukovych was seen in Balaclava on the Crimean peninsula on Sunday and had left by car for an unknown destination.

“An official case for the mass murder of peaceful citizens has been opened,” Avakov wrote on his Facebook profile. “Yanukovich and other people responsible for this have been declared wanted,” he said.

I hope they find him soon I would hate to see him go into hiding and "get away with it" forany period of time. To many people faced him and lost their lives the least he could do is stand beforea court of law

Former President Viktor Yanukovych not the only one living the opulent life -

Pictures from Pshonka's estate (he was the Prosecutor General until a few days ago)

There's much more - it's absolutely insane, how opulent everything is - every room, collections of all kinds of things. Some beautiful - some crazy tacky...

More pics here - really worth looking at

Harriet Salem, reporting for the Guardian in central Kiev, says the mood in Independence Square or Maidan, which was the heart of the protests against Viktor Yanukovych, is much calmer today. She writes:
The mood on the Maidan was relaxed today, with but people continued to flock to pay their respects to the dead, bringing flowers and lighting candles. There is a cautious optimism but people know there is a long way to go.

They are right to be cautious, but I do believe there will be justice and freedom will reign!

Well, late night there now - just listening to the National Anthem being sung, accompanied by bandura - how beautiful! I think the anthem definitely has a different meaning today!

And they sing the liturgical hymn "Z Namy Boh" - "God is with us, understand all you nations, and submit yourselves, for God is with us!"
That's the refrain, and they chant many more verses than we ever do in our church.

The loss of lives is very sad and makes the protests heavier as a result.

What I'm trying to understand is whether Ukraine's people know if their economy can realistically support any monetary payment to whichever entity eventually provides the cash to help the country run. Grecians were against the EU monetary plans that involved job losses and other measures to control government costs. At least twice in the past few years, Ukraine and some other European countries have had their gas supplies from Russia stopped due to non or late payments. Yulia Tymoshenko was in government at least once during the Ukraine gas stoppages. How did government officials manage to let the people down by not keeping up with payments? There was a dispute with Russia also about distribution and I think prepayment/cost of gas into Ukraine.

Ukraine has to show that it will keep its economy going, show how its managing its resources (think all the gold touches in the so-called private homes will have to be melted down and sold to help with debt payments--President's home must surely be state owned?), and maybe even figure out new revenue streams. There will be social issues as a result if job losses and an absence of supports show the nation the true costs of not being able to afford to be its own income earner.
