We'd all love to think that our 'helpful' advice always works out for the best
...but let's face it, that's not always how it goes...
What has turned out to be the worst advice you've given to someone?

I have a "no advice rule" I don't ask for it and I don't give it unless really prodded and even then I am hesitant.

Half the things I was told about pregnancy, labour and being a parent went into the brain dustbin..even the stuff from the professionals..
Short answer : no Long answer : NOOOOOOOOOOO!

My friend was having trouble with her cat scratching everything and wanted my advice about whether or not she should have him declawed. I assured her that everything would be fine and that she wasn't being cruel and that she should just go ahead with it. The cat died from the anesthesia. I felt absolutely horrible!!!!
