I just stopped at my local Co-op and lucked out as they had marked down Maple Leaf Prime chicken dated for tomorrow. Got a good sized roasting chicken (1.52 kg) for $4.29 per kg with a further $2 peelie manufacturer coupon on it-so total cost of $4.54. As well I bought 5 packs( 10 breasts or 3.61 kg) of the ML prime shortdated boneless, skinless, individually wrapped Santa Fe chicken breats for a total of $ 6.83 for 10. Hope we like them. Anyway watch your stores for marked down chicken as the large chickens have a $2 peelie and the 2 pack of breasts have a $1 peelie so hopefully you can score some deals!

Made 45.xx at Plato's closet for some old clothes.
Went a to church yard sale tonight where everything was free if you brought a canned food item. I got 5 tops, a sweater, a dress coat and a pair of boots all free, and everything fits, which is better than them being free because I'm having a hard time finding age appropriate clothes for myself.

Finally got in on the Voltaren deal from Giant Tiger from a few weeks ago. I went to see if my local GT had any in stock as I had gotten a raincheck when they were on sale for $4.39. They gave me the raincheck for two but I had eight coupons with me today. As my hubby and I were looking at the back of the store in the personal care section a gentleman overheard us talking about where GT might stock this item. The gentleman was kind enough to tell us that he just got one from the front of the store near the tills and that there were only two left. I thanked him and went on my way to hunt down the two still available. My hubby and I went to the front of the store and spotted an enclosed display with some otc drugs (incl. Voltaren) in it. Yay, there were more than two in the display! I would have been happy enough to get my two raincheck Voltaren for .61 overage each and I was going to buy 6 more at their regular price of $8.39(?) and would have gladly paid $3.39/tube until the cashier started ringing them in and they all came up at $4.39. We saw the gentleman who told us where to find it and that he had one in his basket. We were so happy to be getting this deal and the gentleman was so nice to us that we gave him one of our coupons for $5 off so he would get his for free as well. Giving is so much better than receiving.
PEACE. LOVE. HARMONY...AND COUPONS!
