I made this one up for a quick side and it was good.
Soak rice in boiled water and 1 can Campbells tomato soup. Add just enough water to reach about 1 inch over the rice.
Leave for an hour or so till it's absorbed by the rice. If you're in a hurry cook rice as directed or better yet use leftover rice.
When rice is ready.
In large pot add 2 tbs oil and fry up some garlic and onions/ green onions.
Add a can of sun dried tomato flavoured tuna. Stir on your rice and heat on high till hot.
Add a little water if needed but not much. Then simmer till done. Add salt and pepper as needed.

Sounds yummy - I never thought of tuna with rice, I always mix it in with pasta - or make it in a garlicky white sauce and serve over mashed potatoes.

Sounds really great. I'll have to give it a try sometime. Perhaps the spicy Thai with the rice....mmmmm

Natalka, I've only used it with pasta or in sandwiches before. Mashed potatoes is another idea!

it sounds delicious and want to try it but here is one problem in Pakistan and that is we don't have cane tuna fish here we need to search it in our market but hardly available......but I don't know that from where restaurants owners buy tuna here may be from Karachi's market or from Northern area's markets.......

I'm using a product sold here. It's called Cloverleaf flavoured tuna. There are a few different flavours.
I've made another one using the chipolte flavoured tuna. I added some cilantro and lots of Club House roasted garlic and peppers seasoning.
Using the Cloverleaf gives some added flavour and oils and speeds things up.The best things in life...aren't things

[QUOTE=Shwa Girl;5991164]this works with chicken or extra lean ground beef/turkey/chicken too.
just cook the meat first and add the rest to meat in the same pan, including water[/QUOTE
Yeah, we make chicken and turkey this way often and occasionally beef ground or stewed. Never thought of using tuna before though. The best things in life...aren't things

Hope you like it. It more of a seasoned rice. You don' really taste the tuna. If you'd like to taste more of the tuna, you may be better using 2 cans.
I made it again recently and added in peas and ginger slices as it was simmering. Just added them on top to flavour. I sliced them thinly with a potato peeler. When it was done, I stired it all in. I liked it.
Whatever you like. Post your recipes.Last edited by SharonMe; Wed, Jul 2nd, 2014 at 11:17 AM.
