    #1. Reading this site!
#2. Making use of the price checkers
#3. Ordering coupons and doing coupon trades
    #4. Thoroughly checking out flyers/ads
#5. Going to stores with great clearance[or pricematching if on sale] even if the weather stinks [lol]
#6. Being knowledgeable about SCOP, and being aware of the details listed on my coupons.
#7. Standing up for yourself/your coupons [no matter how much you're shaking inside] with dignity and courtesy... if you're right, there's no reason they should be turned down. but, having a nasty attitude won't help you
#8. Having a understanding/appreciative family who doesn't mind my extra computer time
#9. Learning what each stores' clearance tags/signs look like, and having an eagle eye
#10. Coupon 'shopping' [lol, my hubby thinks i'm nuts, but it helps with trades ALOT!]

    Goodluck!

I only have one more to add:

Most stores have a clearance section - it could be in a cart at a particular area, in a corner or on an end aisle - it's there somewhere - you just have to find it. Also look high up on the shelves - they seem to hide good deals way up there.

Another good idea is to go in aisles you normally wouldn't brouse - never know what you are going to find!

Hmm hardly any of my stores have clearance places (Pharmaplus, SDM, MANY grocery stores ect.) I've only found 2, and they were ever so small at Walmart and Zellers

Oooh, you're right! I try to check out those first.
Also, look down LOW too... esp at Walmart! That's where I find they put the clearance things [my Walmart doesn't have a clearance section] on the top or bottom rows. [some of my best finds have been hidden down below], and Redmouse is definetly right about the other aisles... another reason being that if they run out of room in the correct aisle, they stick it where they can! so I've found baby stuff in the pet section!

Also beware of the prices at stores. One Walmart (Zellers, SDM, etc.) might sell the exact same thing at another Walmart in the area for cheaper. Shop around at the different stores in your area and find out which one has the best prices and clearance.

I would like to add a few words about seasonal shopping. I like to go in to Walmart and sometimes Zellers after seasons end especially summer. They usually start clearing out their stuff in July. Of course after any major event is over such as xmas, Easter, Valentine's, Halloween is also a great time to shop for the next year. IF YOU HAVE STORAGE. LOL The best advice I can give though is go often and know where the clearance racks are in every department. You never know when they will be getting rid of something.
