This will be the first time redeeming points (2x $210 - yes I'm excited). I have a number of Shoppers locations near me to choose from. Some open at 9am, some are 24 hours. Do you go and do your shopping right when the store opens or do you head to a 24 hr location at do your shopping just after midnight (especially if there is something special you want)?
PS I'd like to thank everyone here for all the tips and tricks to get extra points. My husband and I recently both lost our jobs and this redemption is sort of a big deal! This thread is currently associated with: Shoppers Drug Mart

It has been my experience that if your redemption includes an item that stores only have limited numbers of like electronics I have gone in the weeeeee hours of the morning but if its food, beauty or pharmacy related I scope out the store the day before and head over in the morning. Some people on here have SDM's that will hold stuff for them. I do not but I have 4 SDM's in close proximity so plan my redemptions based on stock. I'll be at my Shopper's by 9.

Depends what you are after. If you want a lot of grocery items then definitely go early because many SDM sell out of sale items on a 20x day, nevermind redemption!

Whenever my mom shows up to watch my kids lol. I'm only redeeming for diapers, gift sets and food items so I really won't be too disappointed if something is sold out.

I'm there by 1130pm the night before and have my purchases ready for just after midnight. I redeem mainly for video games and accessories so stock is often limited. I scope out all of my local stores first to determine which one has the most items on my list. I often do redemptions at different stores depending on product availability. This year may be different though...one of my local 24r SDM has stopped carrying electronics

Thanks for the tips and the question. I have never gone at 11:30 pm, but I'm going to try that this time. I've noticed that my Shoppers doesn't carry Xbox One games though. That's a bit disappointing.

Good luck with your 2 redemptions..same advice as everyone if the store is opened 24 hrs..go just before midnight and get all your electronics..go the day before to check where everything is, so when you get in the store you can go to the cash( at my store a lot of the limited items are behind the counter) to get electronics and your husband can go somewhere else and get the other thing..let us know how it goes!!!

Night before if you can to check stock. I usually go to a shoppers that opens around 8am - I'm usually there by 8:30am at the latest. I also go to a shoppers with a beauty counter = usually hassle free checkout there and don't have to worry about lineups! The beauty girls are usually super helpful and you keep away from the line at the main cashes! Also look for bonus point coupons or items with extra bonus points to try and recover some of the points your spending. Good luck with your redemption
I'll be doing 2 this year as well! :D Yahoo for free stuff!

I'm planning to go as early as the weather allows since I plan to use one redemption for electronics.
I don't know for certain when I'll get out. We're getting yet another storm overnight.
I'm hoping that I can clear out the drive early enough to do my redemptions and then zip over to Tim's to reward my patient family.
