Hello my fellow SmartCanuckers!!
I'm looking for opinions on cocoa powder. What's the best brand to buy? Is it worth it in this case to purchase the "name brand" as opposed to the generic? If not, which generic brand would you recommend?
Thanks so much! If only you all knew how frequently I rely on all of your opinions! This thread is currently associated with: N/A

What types of stuff will you be using it for? If you are thinking of using it for hot chocolate (or drinks, smoothies, raw recipes) at all, then there is definitely a noticeable difference in quality.....but if you are using in in baking I think most cheaper/generic brands are okay...I never seem to notice much difference at least

I find Fry's the best. I tried Hershey, but it wasn't as good. No Name def was not good, noticed a big difference.
It lasts me a long time, so I don't mind paying more for it.

I'm happy with the cocoa I get from the Bulk Barn. It has a reddish tinge to it. I don't notice the difference between that or the name brand stuff.

Frys for me as well. I had a few others but they are either too sweet or too bitter.

I switched to cacao powder and noticed a slight difference. A little goes a long way I find. It could be that it's because we also switched to organic. Prior to that I always bout Frys.
