Ya I decided to open that account with the BMO crooks! Guess what they did.
I applied for the account online and had to go into the branch to complete opening it. I went in a few days later and made the deposit over $3000 to get the bonus 50 for minimum balance. I noticed that they so kindly decided to take out the $14.95 when I applied for the account and never even went to the branch. I had no account number or card. So the account had -$14.95 before i even had access to it. So I didn't get my bonus 50 miles, because it had a negative balance for a few days, then these crooks decided to charge me 3 cents interest. Examples like this is how these crooked banksters make their billions!

Complain to BMO. They'll correct it.

I had the same thing happen.. I sent them a message online about it and they reversed the fee.

I didn't do the balance thing. I did get 25 Air Miles for having the Mastercard.

Ya I got the 25 for the mastercard. They responded to me and will refund the $14.98 but refuse to give me the 50 air miles as I didn't deposit money till nov 4th. supposedly they take out the fees at the end of the month. I dunno I still feel like their screwing people. They said I met the requirements for the 3000 and they will be deposited by jan 4th at the latest aka 60 days from qualifying.

Currently sitting at 5,981 for the year but will pick up an easy 100 tomorrow on the Thrifty's GC.

Thanks for posting about the Gold/Onyx miles lookup and Airmiles updating schedule.

Over the years, I thought the Gold Airmiles fairy just upgraded me to gold on a whim because I was never really sure how many Airmiles I earned in a year, just kept cashing them in when I had enough to shop!!

When you mentioned checking and the schedule, I clicked on the Gold button and found I was 50 airmiles away from Gold so I went to Sobeys and bought 8 Campbell's Chunky soup and earned 50 airmiles (added benefit..donation to the Food Bank!!). They should credit by the end of the year, if they follow the schedule you mentioned.

So, I'll be all set to get the few benefits granted Gold members .
