Ontario to Ban Corporate, Union Donations to Municipal Candidates

The Ontario government plans to ban corporate and union donations to municipal politicians. The Liberals are expected to propose amendments to the Municipal Act at committee today to prohibit companies and unions from donating to local politicians. The government, which introduced legislation Tuesday to ban corporate and union donations at the provincial level, said it would be up to municipal councils to decide to change their fundraising rules.

Cavaliers Crush Raptors In Opener of Eastern Conference Final

LeBron James scored 24 points on near perfect shooting, while Kyrie Irving had 27 as the Cavaliers throttled the Raptors 115-84 in Game 1 – Toronto’s first ever conference finals appearance. DeMar DeRozan had 18 points, but the rest of the Raptors could do little against a Cavaliers team that went into the night after a nine-day break. Game 2 is Thursday in Cleveland. Lowery, DeRozen & Biyombo need to step up like the last game with Miami. No excuses for them sleeping. They get paid the BIG bucks for scoring the buckets.

Suspensions Handed Out in Texas-Sized Brawl

Texas Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor has been handed an eight-game suspension for his punch to the face of Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista. For his part, Bautista received a one-game ban. In all, 14 players and coaches received discipline. The Tampa Bay Rays picked apart the Toronto Blue Jays last night 12-2. So much for the team rallying together. Let's GO JAYS!!!!!!
