There are so many happening things here, in our little Club Q canteen,
Thanks to all for helping to remember that wonderful music scene,
The bands we loved and there were so many,
& concerts didn't cost such a pretty penny,
The Concerts at Maple Leaf Gardens and the Grandstand at the CNE,
Memories I am recalling that are so very dear to me,
There weren't so many venues where you could get a concert thrill,
Let alone a place like Youtube where you can reminisce & chill,
We really had an abundance of artists who we relied on when we'd be sad,
Crazy looney rockers that pushed the envelope of bad!
Ain't it amazing that so many old rockers are still a rockin' today,
Maybe they learned a lesson from the ones that we lost on the way,
The dance of life goes on my friends so keep those memories on file,
Conjure them up in your mind like an old fashioned radio dial,
With a crackling overplayed album, sit back & have a listen,
Perhaps you were in the basement with your true love just a kissin'

KT, sounds like your weekend was a wild one! Glad your wife is good and only a little boo boo on the car! Keep plugging away with the pool! I just had to replace my motor. The lining I got last year.

Mechman, congrats on your retirement! Book reading and drinking sounds like fun!
Kenrod, congrats on finally getting your new gold heart, it is well earned by you! My guess is Lee sent it to you while you were dancing to Radio GAGA!

Wedding Anniversary was yesterday, so we just went out for dinner, but I am taking DW up to Deerhurst this weekend and bonus we are seeing April Wine there as well! Should be a blast as you all know this is Just Between You And Me, I Like To Rock but Enough is Enough!

Free Tragically Hip Concert at Downsview?

Toronto Councillor Josh Colle has the perfect solution to the ticket shortage plaguing the Tragically Hip summer tour: throw a free show at Downsview Park. Colle, who counts himself amongst the Hip’s legion of fans, say the park, which has hosted as many as 450,000 for bands such as the Rolling Stones, provides the perfect venue. He sent the band a note Wednesday afternoon. The City of Mississauga alos wants to put on a free Tragically Hip show for as many as 30,000 fans. If the plan flies, the free show, with all costs for the band and fans covered by the city, would be held at downtown's Celebration Square.

Scalpers Selling Free Ali Memorial Tickets

While thousands waited in line for a free ticket to Friday's Muhammad Ali memorial service, some are willing to part with their piece of history – for the right price. The tickets and many pleas for tickets, have flooded sites such as Craigslist, with sellers seeking hundreds of dollars for the Friday service at the KFC Yum! Center. The ceremonies will include an Islamic prayer service today, followed by a funeral procession and the memorial service on Friday. The funeral will be held at 2pm today and is expected to end around 4pm.

Nice day walking around the Boardwalk, Ashbridges Bay! They are setting up Woodbine Park for a big festival, too bad it's not the music that I prefer, more alternative etc, The Cure and a few I haven't heard of but it looks pretty neat the way they are setting up, my daughter really wants to go both days but it's $100 per day, she will go Saturday for sure. They have installed fencing all around so people won't be able to sneak in - security said they have been at it since Monday.....

Having a quick bite to eat and then off to play a game.......see you all later!
