Morning to all! It is very nice to have a cup of Timmy's coffee this morning. Somehow managed to spend a small fortune on groceries yesterday. Hey let's do our Friday thing today.

Gordie Howe dies at 88
In a country where hockey is king, Gordie Howe ruled for decades.
A Canadian icon, Howe grew up in the Great Depression playing hockey on prairie ponds — on hand-me-down or jerry-rigged skates. He went on to become Mr. Hockey, a tough and durable customer who could fight as well as he could score.
Howe, who died Friday at the age of 88, could do it all.
His hockey career spanned five decades — six if you count a 1997 cameo in the International Hockey League — and six prime ministers.
Making his NHL debut for Detroit on Oct. 16, 1946, against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Howe played 32 professional hockey seasons, more than any other man. He also was the oldest player to score in the NHL and made hockey a family affair when he skated with sons Mark and Marty.
Howe was named an all-star 21 times, including 12 first-team selections on right wing, and helped the Detroit Red Wings hoist the Stanley Cup four times. He won the NHL scoring title and MVP award six times each.
He was 52, and a grandfather, when he finally retired in 1980 -- eight years after he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame and nine years after being appointed into the Order of Canada.
RIP MR. HOCKEYNASCAR SEASON is complete for 2021.

I watched the same show and enjoyed the various artists who sang with Joan Baez. She and her voice are in pretty good shape for 75. I liked that the show was "efficient" and to the point - get the guest out, quick hug and kiss and into the songs - next! Loved the Jackson Browne (Before the Deluge) and what was Damian Rice playing - some kind of squeeze box instrument? Went to bed humming "Don't think 2wice-its all right"Last edited by The Jester; Fri, Jun 10th, 2016 at 11:10 AM.

Gordie Howe one of hockey's all time greats. I know his health was declining in the last few years, but what an amazing gui. One of our early hockey heroes. We'll never forget you Gordie. Thanks for everything you gave to hockey & countless young boys who dreamed of the NHL.....little guys like Wayne Gretzky.

Good morning fellow Canucks!
Last night I went to Long & McQuades and bought myself a guitar and amp. It is a Gibson Les Paul, not an expensive model, but still very nice.
My son was so excited that when we brought it home, he plugged it in and started playing it. I think he just adopted the guitar and I fear I will never get to play it now.
The kids have a PD day on Monday. I'll bet my son will put a lot of mileage on that guitar.
Well folks, hope you all have a great day!

A woman was enjoying a good game of golf with her girlfriends.
"Oh, no!" she suddenly exclaimed. "Look at the time! I have to rush home and fix dinner for my husband. He'll be so annoyed if it's not ready on time."
When she got home, she discovered all she had in the fridge was a wilted lettuce leaf, an egg and a can of cat food.
... With no time to go to the supermarket, she opened the can of cat food, stirred in the egg and garnished it with the lettuce leaf.
She greeted her husband warmly when he came home, and then watched in horror as he sat down to his dinner. To her surprise, he seemed to be enjoying it.
"Darling, this is the best dinner you've made me in 40 years of marriage! You can make this for me any day."
Needless to say, every golf day from then on, the woman made her husband the same dish.
She told her golf partners about it and they were all horrified. "You're going to kill him!" they exclaimed.
Two months later, her husband died.
The women were sitting around the clubhouse, and one of them said, "You killed him! We told you that feeding him cat food every week would do him in! How can you just sit there so calmly knowing you murdered your husband?"
The wife stoically replied,"I didn't kill him. He fell off the window sill while he was licking his arse!"
