Thread: Anyone upgraded to Windows 10 yet?
-

I'm hearing the deadline is approaching and the cost to upgrade will be $110. Just wondering has anyone upgraded? Why does it seem like we are being forced into this? I don't want to upgrade but my pc keeps reminding me I should ! I don't want to have to pay for it later, but do we really have to upgrade? What happens if we don't? Thanks for any advice !

No, my son warned me not to do Windows 10, and that was before we realized it was free only for a short time.
Today is the last day.
If you don't have someone who can help you directly, my advice would be to scour some tech forums online to check for information.
Good luck.

Yea, I decided not to upgrade either. With support for 8.1 lasting a few years, there's not really any point. Likely by the time it's phased out I'll be in need of a new system.

I killed a Windows 10 operating system in Reno, just to watch it die.

Myself, I happen to work for a computer supply company and have access to hard drives that have been pulled from computers so I cloned all of my computers hard drives and installed windows 10 on the new drives. That way if someone in my family does not like it, I can put the original drive back in and everything is back to normal. At this point every one seems to like it and for free it was well worth the time of cloning them all

Windows 10 has been fine for me so far. It takes a little getting used to but is not much different from Windows 7, which I was using before. Knock on wood it stays working properly.
Vista was widely considered to be terrible and it really wasn't THAT bad. Not unusable or anything.

No, I am the dinosaur, still on WindowsXP, very stable. Been getting calls from India telling me that I have a problem with it but I just tell them that my phone is linked to our police anti-cybercrime unit & they go away.

When I bought this computer it came with Windows 8.1, which I was not a big fan of. Loved Windows 7 Pro. But that wasn't an option, So I upgraded to 10... Went back to 8.1, then back to 10... back to 8.1 and now am finding 10 not so bad...

A couple of computer geeks I know who work in that field told me Windows 10 is great so i reserved it (free DL for my OS) before it came out. But then i heard some horror stories and read that if you don't have to upgrade to 10 then don't. So I didn't. I stopped getting the upgrade message quite a while ago.
