wow 2 great things happened to me on Saturday
I was wakened with a call from Sears Canada to inform me that my name was selected to receive the cost of my last order back $86.00 ... I was delighted
The second thing was my hubby bought me a new puter ...It is a 22 inch all in one touch screen........It is so awesome...

Rose maybe you got that new virus going around . If you clicked on a link sent to on MSN by a friend it was a virus. My nephew sent it to me yesterday and I called him right away to tell him it was a virus. I was smart enough at the moment not to click on it

Just going to vent here.

So my puter at work is still not fixed. They have replaced the mother board and that wasn't the problem. I asked the techy when I am do for a new one. LOL You would think they would just give me a different one (like this one and then scrap the other one). No I have to wait to see if they can fix that one, before they will give me all my permissions back. Make work hard, 'cause I have to check another mail address and on this puter I don't have the right access so I can only see the income mail and the all the files that I really need.

OK venting done.

nope dont click on msn links LOL so idk what is up but my dad was on the computer yesterday morning and he might have done something so I am running a virus scan just in case since it seemed to be really bad after he was on all yesterday it gave me attitude and today is horrible

Welcome to the newbies hope you enjoy it here all of you, or those just new to the thread. We are a bit different here lol ok sure you've heard the word asylum but a good asylum one filled with great people who really care about each other and always open to newbies and lurkers are very welcome to join us. Don't worry if you're not Canadian I'm not and couldn't feel more welcome then they've been to me and others.
Rose my comp was acting funny to so I ran a scan nothing, have nortons internet security got a free year with it ugh so will be getting something else when my year is up. Ran a scan on Kaspersky free online scan and they found 2 trojans and a adware, said they deleted it but when I ran the scan again thru them it came up again. Went to Trend housecalls and ran a free scan with them and they found what kaspersky did and got rid of them. Running fine now. I also don't ever click on anything on msn messenger if thats what your referring to, when I first got a comp I ended up with a worm thinking I was talking to a friend. Since then I never click on anything without asking if they are sending me something and why like my sister with her photo's she's constantly sending me thru there even tho she knows I'd rather she emailed them. Unless it's something like a personal photo they have taken I will refuse it even if they say they are sending it since I have found some of my friends tend to click on things they shouldn't trusting their friends. Don't know how many times I've had friends end up with something nasty thru msn messenger gotten to the point i don't even want to use it but have several family members that won't use yahoo. I'm on facebook although haven't been on there very long and don't really do anything with it right now. Would like to hunt down the game you all are talking about though and would use it more if I actually had friends on there that did anything besides send me gifts like cupcakes (grrrr send me a virtual cupcake will ya omg spent the rest of the day with a horrible craving), ornaments and drinks on newyears. All virtual and ways for places to advertize i guess. Name is the same on there if anyone would like to add me.

Haunish so very glad your dd was able to sleep well last night and so sorry your dh wasn't. Hopefully dd continues to sleep well and dh is able to from now on. hugggggs am so sorry to hear about your friends hope they are ok

computer is acting up real bad running a virus scan at the moment and its really really slowing everything down

ROSE. if your virus scan is running slow, go to c:\windows\temp and see how many files is in there (i clicked del, then it says, are you sure you want to del # files), but DON'T del. just use it to find out how many.

i had 45,000 temp files. those are files that are supposed to be removed but weren't. you could try running windows cleanup utility first to get rid of unnecessary files, so that way the scanner hasn't got so many to go thru.

if that doesn't work i can give you the url for a vg site that tells u exactly how to remove all your tmp files. you just put them in your recyle bin, and if everything is ok after a few days you can del.

turns out i never had a virus at all! just too many files.

works good now.

ya idk why its running so slow but just to be safe I am running the scan we have avast downloaded it when we had highspeed...now we cant change even if we want to because we cant download any of the free ones they are too big of files and they always time out on us so we are kind of stuck idk if avast finds everything but i hope it would
