Wild weather in Toronto over next 72 hours

We’re in for a wild weather day -- currently we're dealing with thunderstorm activity. Global News Weather Specialist Mike Arsenault says it also feels a lot warmer than it should. High winds are expected through most of the day and that will bring the temperature down from the current feel of 27 degrees to 15 degrees by the afternoon. Overnight temperatures will really cool down, potentially even seeing frost by the morning as the overnight low is expected to hit just 3 degrees.

1.9 million Ontario motorists have driven under influence of cannabis: poll

With marijuana set to be legal in a little over two weeks, there seems to be a bit of concern amongst Ontario drivers. A CAA commissioned Ipsos poll suggests that 1.9 million Ontario motorists have driven under the influence of cannabis, and over 735,000 have done so in the last three months. With these results, there is concern that more cannabis impaired drivers will be on the road following legalization.

Leafs win season opener in OT

One down, 81 to go -- the Maple Leafs kicked off the 2018-19 season with a 3-2 win over the Habs in overtime at Scotiabank Arena last night. Auston Matthews scored a pair, including the overtime winner and John Tavares scored his first in a Toronto sweater. Next up for the buds is the Ottawa Senators at Scotiabank Arena (ACC) on Saturday.
