Waterpik Waterflosser

I can't give a detailed review on this product yet, since I just bought it yesterday. Will give more info later.

But I'd been thinking about buying one of these for awhile. I'm not great about flossing, and this would be better than my lack of flossing right? So I bought one at Costco yesterday. I was quite excited about it, unpacked it, went up to my bathroom, filled it up with water, put one of the tips on it.

Went to plug it in the bathroom outlet...

WTH? It's got a polarized plug, the blades are two different sizes, the variety that won't fit into my bathroom 'razor only' socket. Am I supposed to spray water into my mouth and spit it into my kitchen sink? AUGH!

Haven't decided if I should keep it or not. One of the many pleasures of Costco - don't like it? Bring it back, even without a receipt!

I have used Waterpik flosser for more than 10 years...gone thru 3 basic ones all because of the small water tube leaking, got 1 cordless couple months ago, only last for 2 months then no water coming out, returned to WM, got 1 Waterpik plus from Shoppers (with 20.00 off WYB 75.00), a lot better than the basic one/cordless one, loving it.

In your bathroom, you should have an outlet with a GFCI anyway, nothing else should be used in a razor plug.

Maybe try using it in the kitchen, it won't be as bad as you are thinking! I would.

What is GFCI?

Only one plug in my bathroom and it won't do.

Ground fault circuit interrupter - needs to be used in a bathroom (and other places) so it will trip off when there's moisture/water. (only reason I know this is my husband is an electrician)

It's in the electrical code/law now for any outlets around water.

Doesn't cost any more to buy or install than a regular outlet.

I wondered about those shaver outlets.... I realize they are missing the ground plug... but what is the dangers of plugging in a hair dryer or charge my phone as they don't have a third ground pin.

Costco takes back pretty well everything so maybe worth trying as I'm not sure about Amazon. Double check at Costco customer service. I had a pet water fountain that after 8 months looked nasty due to lime deposits and my cats stopped using it - Costco refunded my money 🙂
