Payday tomorrow so budget clean up today.
All credit cards paid in full.
PC Points
#1 $20.00
#2 $530.00
Carried over grocery and gas money. Using cash/change to pay for the few groceries we need. We just need fruit really. Sale on watermelon, blueberries
I cleaned out the fridge yesterday and planned meals to use stuff up. (made burgers last night to use up the last 4 buns)
Will top up my gas tank where it is cheaper this weekend on my travels.

Our natural gas use went down this year but the equal billing stayed the same because of increase. On the financial front we have our 2023 TSFA money already set aside so I put it in a mutual fund earning 4.25% for a year. Better than sitting in a savings amount at .4 %.
Friends don't let real friends pay full price.

There are plenty of institutions approaching 3% for savings accounts. 0.4% is just horrible

Payday so budget clean up.
All bills paid.
Cleaned out my shopping bag and added my shopping list and coupons I want to redeem.
Sorted change to use for groceries over the next week.
PC pts total
$544 Card #1 (have a $8500 work expense to put on my card at the end of the month so points for me
)
$23 Card #2
Saving points for a Fall stock up.
Nothing exciting budget wise. Last payment for property taxes due mid September.
Then will just put the money in "Tax Account" each month until due next year)
Car and house insurance money put in "car/house Ins. account each month for annual June bill)
RESP monthly payment is done. Yippee! Will have to figure out where to put the money now.
I have a large credit on cell bill. And in October DS is taking over his bill
(his RESP will cover it) Seeing that light at the end of the tunnel
Need to get posting crap for sale and build my $ envelope.

The PC pts were added to my account from my work expense.
So PC Pts Card #1 is at $630 now!!! What a jump! Perfect timing for a meat stock up (BLSL chicken breast)

End of August update.
Fridge/freezer is full.
Will keep spending to a minimum on fresh stuff and concentrate on using up what we have. Have a healthy balance moved forward in the budget for groceries and gas. (have $20 in my wallet to top up gas tank to keep it full)
PC PTs
Card #1 $639
Card #2 $29
(no plans to redeem this month)
Bills paid. Have extra cash to put in cash binders. Have tons of change to pay for things needed. Minimum spending this month!Last edited by Frugalbigmama; Sun, Sep 4th, 2022 at 08:16 PM.

Mid Month update.
PC pts
$644 #1 card
$30 #2 card (will redeem these points for Halloween hand out I think)
Property taxes paid in full for the year. Will put my monthly amount in bank account each month till the 1st payment is due in the Spring.
Transferring $ to travel account.
Moving forward grocery and gas money.
Shopping- We are pretty stocked up. Fresh stuff only the next while. (unless we find a super deal)
I think I spent $100 on steak last week for the freezer! but for avg. cost of $4 per steak it makes for a cheap dinner.
(Pretty sure a Big Mac is $6.99 plus tax now!!! that is crazy!!!) With sides I can make a nice steak dinner for less then $5 per person.

If there is the SPC program in your area, plus student discounts at local businesses or even campus store on clothing, supplies and treats, all those deals will help you when you are ready to shop. You probably have an electronic student card on which to load funds to use on campus for printing/cafeteria/other need purchases. The one I sent back (Alumni) would not work in all electronic vending machines. It was surreal to notice the vending machine outside the parking/student card office was not accepting the electronic card, only CASH!
