Barney spent most of 2015 playing in Triple-A Oklahoma City, and saw action in just two games for the Dodgers this season. He has never even come close to being an average hitter --- his career-high wRC+ is just 79. What the 2012 National League Gold Glove Award winner brings is stellar defense.
Tulowitzki was not burning up the base paths as a Blue Jay, but his defensive ability was exceptional.
That will certainly be missed
Having to give up a basically Double "A" Catcher in Jack Murphy who only appeared in limited Triple "A" games this year seems a good trade for the Jays to have a good defensive replacement for Tulo.
Remember that we still have Kawasaki who can fill in if required.
Another good move for Anthopoulos to solidify this stretch run for the AL pennant in 2015.Last edited by zfurman; Tue, Sep 15th, 2015 at 05:44 PM.

I have to say that I love this time of the year when the Jays are still in the pennant hunt.
It hasn't happened in 22 years and is as exciting as it was back then.
I can't wait until the game starts tonight.
A win would be enormous, especially if the Yankees lose.
Speculation again , but if KC loses tonight (and they haven't been playing well lately, they are 2 - 8 in their last 10 games) and the Jays win, Jays are only 1 game back of the KC for the overall AL win lead.
That could ultimately have the home field advantage switch to the Jays for the AL Championship Series.
Perhaps that is too optimistic, but it's fun to think about.
Being up by 4 games with only 18 left to play in the season suits me just fine

Oh well , sometimes things just happen.
Atlanta beats the Jays 3-2
Tampa Bay beats the Yankees 6-3
Kansas City beat the Indians 2-0
AL East remains the same - Jays still up by 3 games in the AL East.
KC over the Jays by 3 now in the AL Overall standings
All I can say is that it was a disappointing day for the Jays today!!!
They had a good chance to gain some ground on both the Yankees and KC but blew it.
Things just happen!
We will have to wait to see what happens tomorrow.Last edited by zfurman; Tue, Sep 15th, 2015 at 10:42 PM.

I see that I am not getting much positive response to my posts and as a result I have decided to discontinue them.
I put a lot of time and effort into them to keep all on this site informed of the developments in the Blue Jays future but not many seem to care for my efforts.
I will stop this immediately.
Go to MLB.com for all future updates. Sorry that most of you found my efforts fruitless and useless.
I tried to keep you all informed, but obviously my efforts were to no avail.
Sorry, but I tried.
At this point I will no longer be a participant of this site.Last edited by zfurman; Tue, Sep 15th, 2015 at 10:54 PM.
