The problem with getting up early is I am hungry early!

Went for a walk at the lake at 730 and now I am eating (Oatmeal with coconut milk/almonds/walnuts/frozen raspberries.

But I am also motivated to get stuff done and have already been doing laundry! It should be a good day!

I’m cleared to resume running albeit gradually so I’m headed to the gym in a couple of hours to run for the first time in months!

So while I’ve been given the green light to resume running I’ve taken it slow….kinda.

While I’ve only run 2 times I also ran much longer than I was supposed to and yesterday I took on some 6% tread inclines which I wasn’t technically cleared to do .

So I’ve run a little over 6km which is not a lot for me but also hills and slight speeds so I’m freaking excited!

Yesterday Dh and I did strength and then I went back for an incline hike class and an incline run 2 hours after.

My arms and shoulders are feeling it after doing body weight pull ups and dips! Granted they were on a machine so it was partly assisted but I still had to work it hard. Super proud of myself. My triceps and especially my biceps are poppin!!!

    Still increasing my running .

Yesterday morning Dh and I hit the gym for a 45 minute strength training. I decided on a full body workout since I planned to run later that day and didn’t want to fatigue my legs only. Did calf raises starting at 20lbs now to 60lbs. So far so good but I don’t want to push it too much. Leg presses 100 then 120lb sets. Not bad. Some kettle bell core to round it out.

We then headed home for breakfast (big old loaded oatmeal) and then back to the gym for our run. We did a live Peloton run class with one of my fave instructors. It was awesome. I truly love running and especially when doing it beside my best friend!

Today is a recovery day which consists of LOTS of stretching, foam rolling (ouch!) and walking.

Awwwww thanks @walkonby . It’s really a great way to spend time together, be each other’s cheerleader and talk (only on our walks ).

I hate you and people like you.

You probably look so sleek and graceful as you run, with ponytail swinging in the air; where as I look like a lumbering hippopotamus.

The only thoughts running through my mind as I run are, "Is it over yet? Dear God, let it be over."

I have to do it because I must; I don't have to like it.

I’m not a lumbering hippo but I’m definitely not sleek and graceful @HermanH .

I have to admit my running has definitely become more fluid with me focusing on flexibility and proper stretching and strength training. It’s made a HUGE difference but I’ve always LOVED running as an adult.

Working in this humid heat has forced me to limit my harsh workouts as I’m spent after working my super physical job so walking 3-5km after work has been the go to with stretching.

Today is my recovery day( I’m feeling more pain in my calf than I’ve done in a while). Good thing I have physio on Tuesday.

I did an upper body weight training session followed by 2 yoga classes to finish. I’m done.

Off to get ready for a family dinner.

Two yoga classes to start the morning with my physio strengthening exercises for my leg, at the gym did the bike to warm up, posterior stretching machine to get my legs extended to a 90 degree angle, hit and hill tread walk, followed by another incline tread walk and then finished with an incline tread run ( thanks @HermanH now my ponytail WAS swinging today! You jinxed me ).

Then after my iced latte frappe on the walk home I ended up doing another hill after leaving the dentist. Dh and I did a 40 min walk just about 15 minutes ago. Now to foam roll and go to sleep!

Yesterday was a rough physical day but I still did a 4.5km walk.

This morning was a double dose of yoga and doing strength later today.

Yesterday I did a 45 min walk class but took it and the hills as a run! Hoping for a bike ride and a strength training session tonight when Dh gets home.

Dh and I did a full body strength training session yesterday. Ended with lots of kettlebell goblet squats. Let’s just say I’m feeling those today!!!

We hit the gym again this morning and did 26 flights on the stair master and 45min treadmill walk between 8-10 incline. I’m dead!

Yesterday was rough (dealing with some changes). Anyhoo, dh encouraged me to hit the gym with him and I’m glad I did

Treadmill to warm up (10 minutes), upper body strength training(45 minutes) that included a bit of lower body strength work for my physio. Leg presses and weighted calf raises, ending with deep posterior stretching .

I did my yoga before work and was done by 5:24am but still going to do something else. Maybe just some light cardio.we will see what I’m up to after my day today

Another 5am yoga class this morning and a super hot and very humid work day. Hopefully I’ll have the energy to do a strength session tonight…..we'll see….

No energy for a “workout” after working yesterday but Dh and I managed an evening walk and did 45 min.

Started the morning off with my yoga at 5:30am. Had another long day at work and then Dh and I got the gym for a 60 min workout. Just a 15min warm up on the tread and then 45min upper body session with some physio strength for my tendons, etc…

Now off to shower and lay in bed.
