I just picked up 13 p butter, cheez whiz and cream cheese. Kept 4 and donated 9 to the food fridge close by. My total out of pocket was 4.87 or 1.22 per jar for the jars I kept. The 9 donated items cost me nothing after Scene points.

Saved 21 cents a litre by filling up at Costco. I am sure that buying gas and propane there easily covers the annual membership cost.

For just under $15.00 I picked up about 15 lbs of fruit and veg on Flash food-and 18 free range eggs from my nephew. He sells them for $4.00 per dozen while no name eggs at No Frills are $4.15. Great deal.
Update-actually change that to just under $10. I asked for a refund for a very wrinkled pepper and they refunded the whole bag for 5.26.Last edited by lizzie bargain; Mon, Sep 15th, 2025 at 06:53 PM.

On Monday I am headed to free admission in Kananaskis-hoping to see the golden larch starting to turn. And a bear would be a bonus. On the way back will stop at an out of town grocery store as the app will let me purchase 2 doz eggs for 2.49 each. Free mountains and cheap eggs-what could be better?

Went out to the mountains this morning to enjoy free admission. Saw some mountain sheep. The fall colours have started but have not yet peaked.
Then I stopped at a small town on the way back as they had eggs for $2.49 per dozen-a steal of a deal. Then I hit up 2 new to me thrift stores. One I bought a check on suitcase for $16.00. The other one 2 shirts that started at 6.97 each. I asked if there was a senior discount and he said the last Tues of the month(i.e. tomorrow) they give 10% off-but he would see what he could do. Then he gave me 50% off!
Man I am a friend for life now! My daughter is thinking of moving to this town next spring so I may be going back there plenty.Last edited by lizzie bargain; Mon, Sep 22nd, 2025 at 05:36 PM.

At Sobeys, I stocked up on Goldfish Crackers and Crisps, on sale for $1.99 (reg. price is $3.99).
There is an offer of 400 Scene points WUB5.
It works out to $9.95 - $4.00 (points value) = $5.95 for 5 packages or $1.19 each.
