Just read Arch post on SDM flyer for next week... I already planned my $30.00

I ALWAYS buy a gift card first to get the points, then pay for my purchase with that. So yes, you could use a GC to spend the required $30. But just buying a giftcard for $30 would not count.

Yes, OTCs like Tylenol, cough syrup, etc all count towards the $30.

OTC stuff should be ok. You get regular points on it so it should be eligible for the bonus too.
