@Frugalbigmama I did the same with a large ziploc bag of beef stew. ( pulled out around 9 a.m. today and it's frozen solid of course ) so by the time this sucker thaws out I will no longer be interested into turning it into a meat pie. ( feeling too lazy now to mix up a double recipe of pie crust ) Maybe I'll just wait till tomorrow morning, my best energy is always in the early morning.
So after watching both the Maple Buds and the Jays blow their games I was in no mood to make pie crust.
Luckily I found a small package of Puff pastry, thawed and baked it. Set crispy pieces on the top of each serving of stew.
Not too shabby!
Leafs just pulled out a dramatic come from behind 3-0 deficit late in the 3rd to tie it and then went on to WIN in O.T.!!!
Oops, sorry, I forgot this is the dinner thread. I ate 2 all beef wieners, smothered in relish and mustard. That was dinner....lol.
Today I'm hoping to do a munchie bbq with a bit of this and that, haven't decided on what yet, so far I have bread and salad lol..a few drinkies under the umbrella and supper on the deck!
I was in the right place at the right time today, I ran down to Costco to grab Ground Beef (on sale this weekend). For a while we have been discussing buying an Air Fryer and the last 2 times we were at Costco they did not have any (my research showed they had the best deal $99.99 for a Ninja AIr Fryer, this one also has great reviews). On a whim I went to look and I got the last one on the self.
Long way of saying tonight we are making Homemade Chicken Fingers in the Air Fryer, with some sort of potatoes (still decided) and Cesar Salad.
Last night i made marinated chicken backs that i bought at Super C yesterday morning. Ugh! I didnt like the marinade, not one bit. But i had the string beans and potato and a tomato salad. Hubby liked it.
Tonight i dont have to cook!!!!!!! Yay!!! Its granddaughter number 3's birthday. She is 14 years old and her parents are making a corn roast for the birthday. My daughter asked me to make the potato salad so i did that this morning, just have to mix it before we leave. I love adding dill during summer to potato salad, it gives it that certain something special.

Last night I made pasta with the leftover sauce pulled from the freezer from the weekend. I sauteed portabella mushrooms and onions with it. Made ceaser salad (romaine had to be used up) Opened a bottle of wine and dinner was done.
This seems to be the million dollar question these days.
We have some cooked up Pasta in the fridge we were going to turn into a Pasta Salad but realized we are low on Mayo so I think instead I will pull a package of Pasta Sauce from the Freezer add a few things to it, thinking some veggies to add some freshness, made a Cesar Salad, maybe some Garlic Naan and call that dinner.

BBQ steak, roast Greek potatoes and maybe a salad.
Spaghetti with fresh bread

DD and her amazing physical transformation through healthy eating has limited what I decide to buy, prep and cook.
She does most of her own cooking now ( I'm very impressed at her skills and so proud! ) but....that means the rest of us here are guilt ridden every time we reach for a doughnut ( or 2 or 3 ) .
For this week I decided to stock up on a few cold cuts, sliced cheeses and have fresh crusty buns for the guys to slap together their own work meals.
On the weekend we'll cut loose and maybe have another BBQ!
Chili
I need simple tonight so I just made Roast Beef Sandwiches using a Roast we cooked earlier in the week and made Roasted Potatoes in the Air Fryer. I should have made a Salad to go with it but I didn't and I am good with it.
Made roast chicken last night for supper. This chicken goes a long way. We hare having hot chicken sandwiches tonight with peas and a big tossed salad (no fries)
A beautiful day ahead, going to bbq steaks later..simple sides, bread, salad, probably a potato packet
