Bacon meatloaf with tomatoes sauce and mashed patatoes TGIF!!! :)
Cooked up 2 lamb shoulder steaks ( DS and I had one each ) with caramelized onions, mashed spuds and pork 'n beans.
DH does not like the taste of lamb, so he settled on the homemade chx. noodle soup again.
Fend for myself tonight so keeping it simple...
Chicken cranberry spread in a wrap.
and yup...checked the price of a 3 packs of hearts romaine lettuce at maxi and cie...6,99$ I passed my turn lol..never i saw that before
did not check the price of the iceberg lettuce tought
couple of things I purchase had increased I noticed...
I had takeout souvlaki for lunch so just whipped up a pot of cream of tomato soup for dinner-I don't feel the need of a big meal after a big lunch.
I had no plan for dinner so we ended up making Breakfast for dinner, Waffles.
Saturday DH had a hankering for real Shake 'n Bake crumbs for pork which I've not bought in 20 years or more. Making my own crumb coating is so much nicer but I relented since he is working like a dog on this bathroom re-do.
WM didn't disappoint, bought a pack of 6 thick pork chops and a box of crumbs. Dinner was a throwback favourite of his with mashed spuds, corn and peas. ( ALL starches...lol )
We'll probably have the same meal tonight, but it hardly seems like leftovers.
Thinking tonight I will make Steak Sandwiches with homemade Wedges and oddly Candied Acorn Squash on the side as I have some I need to cook up.
I feel like I need simple tonight so I am thinking slow cooker meal. Going to make Slow Cooker Mongolian Chicken over Rice
We are having Oliveri Gnocci tonight. Our DD and partner will have it with Marinaria sauce. (vegan)
We will have ours with a bolognese sauce.
p.s. we actually prefer the ones you boil (i.e. in green package) They cost less and are extremely tasty
15 degrees here today-so burgers and veggies.
I had been planning to make Roasted Cauliflower Soup with Homemade Buns but a request was made for Chicken Enchiladas.
So now the soup is for lunch and Enchiladas for dinner.
Lou's Beef Dip and salad
Couple of things, I thawed out the steak/mushroom filling that I made a couple weeks back, and a box of Tenderflake pie crusts. Before placing the top crust over the pie, I spread leftover mashed spuds over the meat mixture.
Baked up brown and lovely and was especially yummy with a ladle of canned of beef gravy over each serving.
The colder weather has sure seen us stray to the comfort foods all the time now.
Thai chicken and rice.
